twin OB
So I know the 24 Superboat & 24 Pantera are almost identical 24x7 . Some sb guys think that the boats were not made for twins. Do you guys have any thoughts on the topic?

I haven't read one thread on here where they got a twin 24 pantera running right.
Doesn't mean it can't be done, I just haven't heard anyone boasting about it. And my $0.02 is that when someone gets their boat dialed in right, they're talking about it. |
And I too have read the same things you have about the 24SB.
But on screamandfly, there is a 23howard that is running RIGHT. That one is on LI, NY. Also, the 25PP's seem to do well w/ the twin OB setups. |
No The Twin Is In The Keys!! I Was Just Saying The 24 Single In Buffalo Runs Great. Doubt Its For Sale. But A Sweet Boat

I dont think this boat was make for a twin or single OB. I love the look of the extended cockpit and engines hanging off the back but no good way to control the boat with that much weight off the A$$ |
If you are talking about the all white 24 single with red interior in buffalo it is not for sale. It is a friend of mines neighbour, the boat stays in crystal beach

Can't see any reason why it shouldn't work??
My 24' Sonic runs 80 w/twin stock 250 JohnRudes and is a hoot to drive. It is set up properly though and a much bigger and wider hull. W/the narrow beam I can see some of the issues though. It will set and ride lower in the water and the center of gravity would be farther aft than on my Sonic and that is always an issue on smaller V's w/twin O/B's. The one in the Keys has been for sale a while. I'm hoping to be down there in the next wk and may try and take a look. The 25 PP's haul ass w/twins as well. Was one of them for sale down there for better part of a yr but was beat hard and showed it. I'd guess you move the batteries to the bow, jack the motors to the moon and you may be there. I had a 17' Hydrostream that tried to kill me when rigged like everyone elses. Was fine to about 90 and then would try to blow over w/no warning. Moved the battery from the stern to the bow and the boat would then run a 100 w/no hands on the wheel! Twins on that small and skinny of a boat would clearly be a drivers boat and not for the faint of heart or an owner that doesn't want to earn it/work for it. The ski racers in Australia have similar rigs, 2' shorter, way more power and running well over 100. Someone just needs to do it ;) |
