Yeh...465s and 90 mph, I don't think so. The "Vertigo" had twin 700s and ran 93. I think the "OPA!" race boat has 500s and runs low 80s...is this about right? Just what I've heard.

88bullet 11-02-2011 04:27 PM

from people i talk to a twin 502 mag 415 horse runs mid 70's... 75-6-7 area which sounds realistic. which is a fine starting point for me. a pair of blowers should kick it up a little more too!!

TeamSaris 11-02-2011 04:39 PM

Id get one with smallblocks.

I'd get something in the 32-33 range if you wanna go 90 :evilb:

Craney 11-02-2011 06:18 PM

I've seen 75 on gps with 468s and Trs drives. Most days 72 or73.

Again, I agree. Sorry but 32 Powerplay. This is why Pantera NEEDS to do a 32. They had one in the works...the perfect twin engine boat...32. 32 STEP BOTTOM PANTERA STAGGERED MERC 525S, 90 MPH, ENOUGH SAID.

Well there you go. If you want to be the 28 Pantera King...that's the one. Love the TRS drives. :drink:

JAIME 11-03-2011 09:26 PM

Virtigo is sweet always liked it. PowerplayJ did you get a test ride? Why did you change your mind?

It was a few years ago. Yup went for a ride. It came down to $ for me. I was able to buy a brand new sunsation for the same price. I was young and my wife (ex wife) wanted the Sun more. My bad.

Wasn't Vertigo a Traverse City boat?

Hopefully you learned your lesson, women have no opinion when it comes to buying a boat! :drink:

I hate having to run with the PVC but with a dry exhaust its about all I can do without getting the db violation.

I certainly have nothing against them. It just seems that most folks are trying to avoid them nowadays. I also hear about how smooth they are, though. :drink:

It was lk Erie. And yes lesson learned. Hence the EX part LOL.

Vertigo is a 90+ mph 28 Pantera w/TRS drives. How many twin engine I/O Pantera's are out there that do 90+? I know the MIG (single Bravo 1000 hp or so ran 100 mph). Just saying. Great boat.

JAIME 11-05-2011 01:13 AM

nice, another 90+ single 28 would be the "all about the benjamin" boat. Light, 800hp, with3a and flashy paint

They make mufflers...:lolhit:

EagleXP30 11-05-2011 10:04 PM

The boat is getting cheaper every day I get closer to divorce.....Make an (real) offer

Any muffler I've tried that brought the db's down to a legal level wouldnt fit due to the position of the steering rams. This isnt my first rodeo.

Hey, I'm trying to help you out...I think Vertigo has taken over this thread. Don't know why the mufflers are being picked on by a guy w/ a Baja. Again...just sayin. Hope you sell, great boat!

stlliberator 11-06-2011 11:40 AM

ya..well it might just be a baja..but thats only the name on the title..cause its no where near what "baja" made..ok..maybe no mufflers..then why not have custom tail pipes made? Or move the rams? Im not trying to be ignorant at all..I would love to have your boat...I would have pride in pulling up to the ramp and backing that into the water...

Griff 11-07-2011 02:05 AM

You can't move hydraulic steering rams. The only option would be to have some custom pipes made. Probably would cost $1500-2000.

no limits 11-07-2011 10:17 AM

I would go wth inserts. GGB makes a nice insert even for dry pipes. 5", 8", and 16" that work pretty good. They can be tack welded on end of tail pipe. I got the 8" and they are about $300 and make a huge difference.

http://www.panteraboats.com/ownersga...ID=120&page=12

If this is the boat you are talking about , I am the original owner and engine builder. She turned 28 B1s at 5350 , and ran a best of 86 mph .
Power was a 500 ci engines making just over 500 hp.
Great boat

Jerry
