Pantera makes a great boat, but let's put down the crack pipe when were talking about speed. My 28 pleasure single I raced for 2 years had a 540 ci 650 hp and ran 75 to 77 mph . My kryptonite 27 with a retuned version of that same engine making 600 hp ran 87 mph. I built all the engines, so I know what they were.
Twin496 ho power, at least in the 2001 pantera I rode in at the factory turned 26 b1 props , so if you do the calc you can figure out the speed .

Again, great boat , killer in the ocean and rough water, but let's keep it real with the speeds.

just wondering...what's the speed difference between a 28 stepped single and a 28 non-stepped single (say a merc 525)? I am curious on twins too, but I don't think Pantera has built a twin stepped 28.

I dont think they'll build a twin bbc 28SR.
IIRC, Jo said it would sit too low.
Now he may do it in an twin sbc, or twin sbc stagger.

Staggered blown/injected twin SBC would be the way to go, that boat would ROCK, and be reliable!!!

That is what Jo told me as well. I think a 525 non-stepped boat ran around 70mph so a stepped hull should run 77mph. Just my edumacated guess.
