Most of those panteras were also on the east coast. Much better market for these kinds of boats on the east coast. Have had a lot of people interested from the east coast, but they don't want to drive. I can help with transport to and from airport and lodging. My family has a couple of lakehouses about a mile from were I keep the boat. Would make for a great weekend vacation if someone wanted to stay the weekend before they drove the boat home.

Here is my dilemma.....I wanted to step down a little bit from my 311 to a single engine pantera something a little easier on fuel. Yes I know economical and boating they don't go together. If I were to take my 311 to the river for a day and not run hard i would still spend $300 just in fuel for the boat. My brother in laws single 29 fountain will spend not quit $200. We all know that boat is really only about 25 ft and wont ride as good as a either boat. So at the end of the year last year i wanted 88 bullets boat but i was working to many hours to have a chance to check it out. Then after reading why he wanted a twin 28, started thinking how nice it would be to be able to run 80+. So im not a posed to either, but the boat that was posted earlier in the thread for sale doesn't have a padded engine hatch. I guess that wouldn't be to hard to have recovered, and the graphics aren't really my favorite either. Some one make my mind up for me. Has anyone heard for velocity rick to see if his boat is going to be for sale or not?

80+ would be nice. I set up the 502's with merc 500HP fuel pump/water pump and an oversized oil cooler from teague. All it takes is a simple cam change and valve springs to get to 480hp on this setup and you will be well into the 80's with the right prop. The whole setup is extremely easy to self diagnose and fix. I'm running a merc MEFI4 system so I'm hitting the rev limiter at 4800-4900rpm. Lots of opportunity for speed gains if thats what your looking for.

The Get Away - throw me an offer you'll be happy with. Worst case I say no..... not going to hurt my feelings. I'll even throw in a discount if you give me the right to first refusal to buy it back. I'd love to buy it back after I'm done paying for kids in daycare.

The one in the classifieds is going to get up there in price by the time you buy a trailer and either drive to miami to get it or paid to have someone transport it to cincinnati. I guess I didn't take into consideration the weight of my 311, and how much those 420's had to work to keep the pig on plane. Maybe a twin 28 won't be so hateful on fuel, and more importantly quite a bit faster.

Where in Ohio are you? I drove to Maryland for mine. I agree vertigo is sweet, wish I would have had enough cash to buy it. I do kind of like the one in Miami too. As for fuel my first 28 had twin 502 mags and I thought it did very good on fuel. The way twins float in the water looks sweet too. What ever happened to that 28 with the twin 365hp 454's that kept popping up on here? If it is still available might not be to bad for you.
