Engine Hatches
Why are them engine hatches on some 28's raised and some flat with foam and vynil? I can see why some of them are raised for a blower application but some I see are raised on a N/A engine.

higher x dimension and exaust clearence
|
A single 28 should be able to have any NA engine under a flat hatch. My 525sc fit under mine with a 2" raised area for the flame arrestor and I had a notched transom which raises the X dim 3" over standard. Von Bongo's 28 had a 575sci under a flat hatch.
The engines sit much higher for twins and a raised hatch will be needed in many cases. |
Plus they look sweet, if you can do without the pad.

But you would have to have something to tape, my back seat is gone LOL

Anyone have pics of a raised hatch with a sunpad on it? Thinking of getting a thin pad on my raised hatch but afraid it may look out of place.
