I have been doing some research on the 24 panteras. I would prefer a used one but I am picky. The few i have found have the pirelli flooring in them. I talked with JO at pantera and I know they offer a non skid fiberglass floor. How are these boats constructed because the used ones I am looking at are half the price of a new one. So how hard would it be to switch the cockpit deck to the fiberglass non skid. It may be a stupid question but if it could be done for a few thousand I would still be saving a lot compared to a new one. I know some other styles of boats I have worked on the decks unbolt for access but not sure if the cockpit floor is molded with the top deck of the boat or something that would make it way to hard to accomplish easily. Any thoughts or recommendations would be great!

I agree... I have pruchased 2 Pantera's so far - My first one was a 24 and I purchased it from Stormrider and it Did Not have the Pirelli Floor. My current boat is the 2005 American Flag 28 that does have the Pirelli Floor and I love it... I also have a complete Snap-In Cockpit Carpet with the really cool Pantera Eyes and I never use it... The Pirelli Floor is Awesome...

Are you concerned about the Pirelli being tired looking? If so I painted the Pirelli (or Lon Seal) floor of my PowerPlay with the two part Interlux Perfection paint. It turned out absolutely stunning and looked brand new.

I grew up on sport fishers and had whalers(13 & 17).
But on the 24 i loved the carpet.
I had the pirelli removed becuase i had some deck work done(seat bolts not holding).
I almost never had to wash the boat like you would another style of boat.
All shoes came off before boarding.
I would spray the cockpit and dry it off, w/o drenching it, or the carpet.
and the carpet could easily be lifted.
