Those are ITS's , they make for a nice clean install on a new boat but most guys that want extension box's arn't happy with just 6" . But they do look bad a$s on there so imagine how sweet a set of 12's would be !

Yes they are ITS's which gives you a 7" setback.. (so joe you were on the money, just came up an inch short.. haha) The boat handled great at All speeds, but at the same time it only had 270-280hp per side, so it's not like we were talking about a rocket ship or anything.. However I honestly don't think in my best experiance fooling with this kind of stuff that it would have started doing anything any differant or crazy as compaired to a boat that had regular transom assy's if it were to have suddenly picked up 10-15 mph... I ran the boat one summer, and pretty much just enjoyed it with my family, and didn't bother playing with props, ect..ect.. because I knew what I had in mind before I towed the boat home.. It was spinning a pair of 3 blade 23 Mirage plus's (spinning them out) and would run right at 63-64 mph on GPS with believe it or not around 6-7% slip... which was very impressive to me.. I could have possibly picked up a mph or two by spinning them in, but at the same time could have possibly lost a mph or two, and wasn't a concern...
The boat was really in better shape that I thought it was going to be in when I went & picked it up.. The engines & drives were in Great shape.., and the hull was solid as a rock.. It had been painted on, and for lack of better words wasn't the kind of job that would have left my hands, but I have seen Much worse... Had I not already had another boat at the time I would have kept it & redone it all...
As for how a set of 12" setbacks would do ?? I'm not real sure, and I have never seen a pair on a twin either.. I remember a few singles with setback, but no twins off the top of my head.. I have no idea what kind of prop slip you are dealing with now, what props your running, power, ect..ect.. (seems like you have 415 502's though ?) Anyways I'm completly guessing at saying a 73-76 mph boat, but ?? As I said I can't speak for a pair of 12" boxes, but I wouldn't hesitate for a min to run a pair of ITS's on a boat like that... (which I know ITS's isn't the question here, but the only thing I have first hand experiance with, and possibly the best compairison you have at the time)
That being said all boats, drivers, habits & set up, ect..ect.. are a touch different, and will react a bit different to changes..
One of the ITS's & XR's went to a member here & the other is hanging on a yeller transom about 18' to my right.. ;-)

IMO, you'd be better off throwing 550hp a side into what you got now.

your right on the money. 415hp mid 70's. the boat runs great and handles great. prop slip isnt a concern. just picked up some steering for it.
i really didnt think the boxes would gain me speed since prop slip isnt a factor. i was more curious of how they would handle the bigger water. if it would be better or worse with them farther in the water. i know it made a world of difference on my friends fountain 33 race boat and my other friends 37 OL but curious how it would be on the smaller hull
