During the winter I have been sanding the bottom to get the finish I wanted from the beginning.
Started out with 320 grit to get it perfectly smooth

The longer SB strake is still in place since my strake testing, I lost the other one during the test. It's removed in the following pics.

And after a finer grit it was time to wet sand.

And finished of by wet sanding it by hand and it was done! The finish is only for speed gain purposes, not for looks...

The lower has got a nose cone from Hydromotive.

It's wet sanded to the same specs as the bottom, straightened and the leading edges is sharpened (enough to cut a piece out of my thumb...).

I got rid of the lower intake and modified the side intakes to make them work (hopefully) with my 3-1/2" prop depth. I made reliefs on the lower intake holes, they were also opened up and I changed the angle a bit. The 4 upper ones on each side were removed, since they will be above the water at speed.

I will paint it when it's tested, and all the adjustments needed are made.

Tomas your one of my idles but how bout you put a 2 x 4 between those two rear jack stands and tie them together so one of your family members doesn't post a pick of your legs hanging out from under the boat .
Did you notice enough with the extended strakes to justify doing it or did you 86 that idea ?
What do you do for a living ?

The trailer is back under the boat so no worries ;)

I will continue testing with longer strakes when the ice is gone. The nose cone might make everything different so I'll start from scratch again.

I gained a couple mph but didn't do that much testing because of lack of time.
