New Pantera being delivered this week: 11-29-2012
Jo at Pantera says a new boat is being delivered this week. That is awesome as it would be great news that they are actually turning their business around, and great for their clients. Even better.....it's for an OSO member!
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/3823289-post56.html Jo says "We do need to complete Scott's boat which is 95 % completed and a few others in production. As a matter of fact one is being delivered to a customer that is a new member on this site this week. " Way to go Pantera! Awesome turn around! Congrats! |

Underload's boat I'm guessing ! Blank hull , gonna rig himself ..
This is just an educated guess , don't have any proof other then this picture that came out of the factory today . Jo I know you don't like to sell blanks because bad riggers can give Pantera's bad names but maybe some of these quick flips is exactly what you need to turn your reputation around ... |
Ooops. A few minor issues came up on the water test. The new owner should be ripping up the Gulf in a couple of weeks...:daz:

For power i'm going with a built 454 crank, pistons and aluminum heads with
a M3 Procharger kit. and for the drive a built bravo one I would like an XR, but if I brake its hard to find used ones and bravo ones are pretty easy to come across here in miami. i'll post pics as I go. |
Curious
When you buy it that way aren't you not getting the expertise that Pantera provides ? The engine placement The balance The right x dimension The fit and finish The paint job Which is all the important stuff that makes a Pantera the good boat that it is . No shot here...just asking. |
Jo was more than happy to discuss x dimension placement on our 30 year old race boat. I'm sure he will tell the buyer of a new hull where they would have cut it. And being its a bravo boat not too many options for engine placement.
|
I'd rethink that drive choice. That's a lot of boat for a single Bravo1. It'll probably break the first time out. Now THAT is from personal experience!

The dimension X was already set by Jo at the factory, the drive will be setup
with upgrades for more horsepower, an XR will break just as easy as a bravo 1 if you do not know how to drive the boat. If u launh of the like a drag racer even on a 22ft donzi you'll be dead in the water, its all about skills guys this is not first boat that I build i'm a newbie on this site not to boating I live in heart of powerboating i've grown up as a kid around powerboats my bestfriends dad had a 28 Pantera with twin 383's small blocks and TRS To me that has always been the best rough riding boat next to a Cigarette which will always be number one for me. |
Hey UL, I'm liking what you are doing. Post pics as you progress. Best wishes for a great boat.
|
Finally a positive thread, CONGRATS Underload!!!
and if ya need an extra hand rigging, I am right up the street. |
Hey guys thanks for the positive feedback thats what
need here to make the site more fun, at the end of the day thats what boating is all about, hey Mr.bullet whats up I'll email u a bunch of pics in a while so u can post them for me. |
Congrats Underload. Do you have an estimated time for completion? Paint? Or all white? Post some build pics along the way. Good luck with your build. Can't wait to see it done. :ernaehrung004:

send them over i will post them up... here are some suggestions for paint schemes... just make sure you get the flags on the front
|
Looking forward to seeing some good build pics throughout the winter. Good luck!
|
My Bravo 1X lasted 7 hours behind the 525. My XR, 3 seasons and still going. The rest of your plan sounds good. Good luck with it.

When I asked about buying an empty hull I was told they would not sell them, this was back in 2008 or 2009 when I was at the factory. Guess things change over time. I think a b1 will hold, depends on driver though. I have seen customers with stock power and couldn't keep them from breaking when I was working at a marina. Good luck, I would love to get an empty 28 to build

Yeah Just sold it yesterday the new owner is saids he was goin to put some Mercury racing 2.5 outboards the he has should run nice, but he's considering inboards after seeing my new 28SR at my shop.
|
Wow underload congrats on the new hull, that is something I've been thinking about for a long time, just getting them to build a bare hull and I can rig it with some killer Small blocks and an ITS. Very Jealous, what a great christmas present!
|
Underload, are you saying you got a new 28' bare hull for $2500?

So you sold an old hull and are working on the new one.......have you got it yet from Pantera?

Great to hear Pantera is selling some blanks. They need to sell more...Let the customer rig or take to their guys. Good way for Pantera to get back on their feet. Great boats and still progressing w/new designs like the 28 w/steps and the new 41. Get back to the basics when times are slow. Put some 24s out there as blanks for OB or I/O. Let's face it, gonna take the right person to buy a 41, so why not promote the boat that got it started...the 24. Sell enough 24s and use that money to make a 24 cc deck. It would be the best sell Pantera could have...a 24 cc w/the Pantera name...no brainer. That's where the market is going, alot of the once High Performance guys are getting tired of the race boats, Let them buy a 24 Pantera CC or the 28 CC. If they want to make up some ground (cash), they would do well w/ the CC. Get them out there!!! I'd buy one.
|
Sorry...I'm rambling on. I can see them at the Miami boat show already. Invest a little money in this company and get a 28 cc and a 24 sport OB sitting on the floor at the Miami boat show. Show the product more user friendly models at the show, make some cash and build a 24 cc deck mold new...I know it seems simple...anyone hearing this? Thoughts? Sounds like a great NEW start for someone looking at options, but what do I know? ...I'm from the Midwest.
