The back seat looks awesome . How do you feel when your in the front seats ? Doesn't seem like a lot of freeboard , Have you considered cutting them down ? When mine were high I felt like I was driving a clown boat ..
|
The front bolsters are high.. I cut and welded the aluminum based before, there as low as they can be and still drop down.. im going to need to have the actual wooden frame and upholstery cut down.. as for space, boat is tight, i was thinking of staggering the front seats to clear some exra room in the rear... but im just not sure about how it looks.. the boat came with side throttle lever, im thinking of converting it over to a top mount to be able to move the bolster farther up and not have to worry about the lever travel. anyone have pictures of a pantera with staggered seating?

as long as the light IS the end of the tunnel...and not an oncoming train!!! boat looks great. ALL 24-7 with bolsters have the same little-too-tall-seat look. but the way they get driven, do you really wanna be in bayliner sit-downs?
|
bucket seats look bad ass... i think im going that route next summer.. let me ask you guys a question, do you guys have a lock or latch on your rear engine compartment lid.. its got some weight to it so i dont really think its ganna be an issue just wanted some feed back.. have a buddy with a 22 donzi with no latch never had any issues.. but not sure about risking it..

Last time my Pantera was in the water there was nothing holding the hatch down other then the weight and it squeezed between the upholstery . It had a pull strap but it did take some force . Knowing what I know now and have seen a couple boats launch hatches at speed I should have had pins on it . However most people have hatch actuators which do a great job lifting and holding down so nothing else is required .

Zavier how's the boat coming along bro? Got most of the wiring done yesterday.. Should be n the water next week!!!

The boat is looking kick ass NB! I'm actually hoping on dropping in the motor tmm!!! If that happens then I can finally empty out my house from all the boat stuff that is clustering up everything lol so maybe even a few weeks I could be splashing it! I really wanted it for tortuga music festival in ft lauderdale in two weeks but let's see!
|
Nice bro I'm looking to splash for the first time Thursday .. Hopefully sea tow will not need to be called LMAO.. What's tortuga fest?
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...s/image-42.jpg |
Awesome!!!! Best of luck! What motor do you have?
Today I attempted placing the motor in but at the very end we realized the L brackets I had for my old set up can't work just because they weren't long enough. I guess since I have the different drive and I put a higher x the motor is sitting higher. Hopefully Thursday it'll be all bolted up in my engine compartment! Thursday should be a good day for both of us! Tortuga music festival. It's a country concert that they hold in ft lauderdale on the beach. I went last year and then looked out at the water and saw a couple boats anchored up and enjoying the concert as well. Looked like it would be fun to do |
It's got a small block 350.. With a mild cam and a holly 4 barrel.. Really not looking for speed, just something fun and reliable.. There are tons of parts for these motors and there cheap.. Lol

NewBanana, the boat is looking great!! What are the overall dimensions of your bolsters? They look good in the boat.

Like NB said, to shave off any inches it would have to come from the seat itself.............if you happen to be tall then the combination of a low freeboard results in bolsters way over the gunwale. Anu.........I'm having my bolsters made just like yours (no headrest and a low wrap around old skool seat) my magnum 27 sport has the same problem of a low freeboard, but I lowered the cockpit sole by 4" and also having custom made smaller top end bolsters to make them appear more in the boat then out. |

NB........I agree, boat is looking great & love the rear seating!........Concerning the bolster height there's a minimum to what the frame can be if you have drop outs.

Hey guys! Yes I did finally finish it and enjoyed the hell out of it this 4th of July weekend! Thursday though I figured out I had a valve that wasn't seating right and after changing the gas and and plugs also the boat has ran like a dream! Just a little rich in fuel so going to get the carb tuned and should continue to enjoy the baby!http://s849.photobucket.com/user/bra...G%5D%5B/URL%5D

Wow it really came together.. Nice boat bro.. Hope mine looks half as good when it's done...lol
|
Boat came out great newbanana! Your console and everything look very slick! I tried posting that a few pictures but im not the most computer savy person so i give up pretty quick unless I have someone around who has a better idea on how to do things on it lol someone needs to make an app for this website already to make uploads easier haha anyway I finally got to see some numbers that im liking a bit better especially after everyone got my hopes up about my speeds. Last time I opened her up with my old set up i didnt see any more than 48 with half a tak, cooler, and six people on board. Fourth of july weekend i hit it a bit but not WOT and it was sounding pretty smooth and i got 54.1 and 54.3. Yesterday i guess after having a good mini season i was in a good mood and said screw it lets do it and i was able to reach 59.1. I know Im definitely not the fastest but i was extremely happy that all that work has paid off and i got more mph than i had expected. Hopefully after i rebuild the carb, put a timing light to the motor, and mess around with a few props I can break 60. Only problem Im having is my tach is reading extremely low. First I had the dial in the back of the gauge placed at the 4 pole-8 cylinder position then now i moved it back to the 3 pole-6 cylinder position and it still reading low. Any one else have this problem before?

Zavier thought I'd post this, boats looking sick..

What's going on everyone! Just wanted to inform you guys and hopefully you can help me spread the word that I'm putting my baby up for sale. I know I'm going from a Porsche to an suv but I'm going to be looking for a center console. You guys have all the history and step by step process of this restoration that was done. I'm asking for $22500 OBO. If you or anyone you may know are interested please don't hesitate to contact me at 786-586-7646.
Thanks guys and happy boating |
Done deal. Not proud of the sale especially after so much work was put into it but hey... At least I won't be completely tortured by seeing it cause it's going To the French West Indies to an island called Guadeloupe. The gentleman plans on taking out the motor and outdrive putting a bracket and slapping a merc 300x on the back. It's been good boys and thanks for the help and advice during the rebuilding process!
