So after a long hiatus, I'm going to be back on the water this summer. I'd like to thank mikeb4 for helping make this happen. I hope I get to enjoy the boat as much as he did.

Boat should be on its way to NY in a week.

Thanks all!
Mike kept the boat in immaculate condition and did some real nice upgrades.
The surveyor threatened me that if I didn't buy the boat, he would!

Mike, it was a good day hanging w/ you, and thanks for your hospitality.

Thanks.
You know there are not many boats w/ a layout like this.
Probably not many builders left that will still do it too.

This one being a 2003, none come to mind that are newer.

Thanks, but probably not this year.
I do hope to travel a bit w/ the boat but will make sure I'm fully used to it before going to waters i'm unfamiliar with.

Sh!t... last year in Lake George I spent almost $700 to rent a 20 Whaler Copy for a day!!!!:lolhit:

Cockpit sole is closed cell foam w/ carpet.
Very easy on the feet.

It'll be nice to run it w/ one of my kids next to me.
We are close enough to talk and i can explain to them tabs and drive. Should be interesting for them to learn this.

Plus when its chill time, the sides of the bolster are useful.

Mike, let me know if you're not OK w/ me posting these pics.

CMC 04-22-2013 06:51 PM

Probably not gonna happen as I had to go up twice this winter already, but I have been in FL for 10 years, and have never been back when it is warm, so maybe. Have family in CT, and North shore of L.I.

Maybe if things go well, in a few years I'll send it to Palm Beach for the winter.

CIG3 04-23-2013 08:20 AM

One of the coolest 28's ever made in my opinion. Other than the Black F-1 I cannot think of a cooler hot rod out there. Congradualtions

Hey no problem, we loved the boat for 5 years and had some great times on it. She is an awesome machine for sure and you can start your own memories with her now.

I am looking forward to seeing your pics this summer! the boat deserves a great home and I am glad it found another one! :bestwishes:

A big shout out to Jo and Pepe for building one hell of a boat, this was an amazing setup. I would not have sold the boat if we weren't taking a break from boating. I was very impressed and would buy another Pantera without hesitation.

Nykamp 04-23-2013 06:52 PM

Congrats , sweet boat.

You would know!!!!

The race setup is really nice when things get rough. You are held in the boat so well you can really concentrate on what you are doing.

I have always found that race prepped Panteras are unique in that they are like little single engine baby race 41 Apaches, as far as under 30ft single screw boats go. Basically the same idea on a much smaller scale. I have really enjoyed mine. The race setup is a tradeoff, as most things are with any boat, but for pure running from point A to point B with 2-4/5 people it is nice and you will find people pay alof of attention to it around the docks (even owners of much more expensive boats).

So if you were looking for a runner that looks cool and performs as an "offshore boat" should you will love it. Just be ready on the throttle because if that thing is anything like mine it is going to love flying through the air at high speed. :evilb:

Adam,

Funny you say that, because this is the boat that hooked me on this cockpit style.

I do plan on mostly using the boat from A to B.
This gives me the ability to carry the family or another couple(or 2), and some room to anchor an chill.
No need for a cabin or overnighting for me.

That is a gorgeous Apache. You bought a very nice boat, congrats.
