Trim tab placement on a 24x7
#2
Is neither an acceptable answer? But seriously I prefer at about 20 - 21 degrees and 1/2 inch above the bottom at the closest point. Remember a trim tab is a rudder if installed at 90 degrees and provides lift only at 0 degrees of deadrise. Most will install them at the same deadrise as the hull but there are many factors to consider.

Slow but steady.. Been slammed at work lately..
I have a little more to do in the bilge and cockpit before it's ready for paint / rigging. Have all the interior. Engine is at the machine shop. Will have to run N/A for a season until I come up with the $$ for the blower but should still be a fun ride.

Part of my issue is I've never driven or even been in a 24x7 so I don't really know what to expect...
I'm assuming it will be prone to listing at slower speeds because of the narrow beam, and may need help keeping the bow down running in the rough being as light as it is...

Mount those tabs parallel with the hull and not horizontally.

Mine were parallel with the botom and it robbed 5mph off my speed . I pulled the plates off 85 ... I put them back on 80 .. I will never go with the V again . At least pull them up to 21* .

Sounds like your tabs were mounted too low and always in contact with water, causing drag and maybe even acting as a rocker. Correctly mounted tabs shouldn't rob any speed when in the up position.
