Default Prop for 24

I have a three blade 25P Mirage plus on it right now. I also have a 26P 4 blade bravo prop. I have a 496 stroker that should be pushing 525 hp. I know the 4 blade will be harder to push, but what should I expect from both of the props? I had the 4 blade on about 4 years ago, but do not remember performance. I have a toddler now, so want to either put the 4 blade on or stick with the three blade... basically, will not have time to pull the boat and swap out props. Want to either not do anything or do it once and leave on for the summer. 3 blade is on it now.

What could I expect from the 26P 4 blade bravo?

Thanks!

It all depends, What RPMs are you at with the 3bl? If it's in the correct range and you are happy with the performance then leave as it is.

Otherwise, put the 4bl on and try it, it's the only way to know for sure!

I recently bought TMone's 2003 24 Sport running approx 580hp. He did alot of prop testing and I got three props with the boat, 3 Blade Mirage, 4 Blade Revolution (25P) and a 5 Blade Maximus style (25P lab finsihed). Sorry I don't have the rpm range but its approx 6000. The 4 blade is an all round good performer that tops at 76-77mph. The 5 blade tops at 80mph on GPS. I haven't run the 3 blade but 73-74 from what the previuos owner told me.

580HP and only 80MPH? You should have quite a bit of speed left in that one. My best is 83MPH with a stock 496 Mag HO with headers, about 450HP... But then again, I have the fastest 24 Pantera with stock, non racing engine. :P

I'm running a 25P Rev4 with 1.36g/r at 5150rpm.

No, the boat is not left in the water. Kept it on a lift at our old house and will dry store/dock it this summer. Thomas, do you have your 24 stripped down to nothing. 83 mph with 450 HP?

I can tell you that my boat did not like a stock Bravo. Very narrow "sweet spot" when running hard. Rev4 worked significantly better. I did run a BBlades Bravo that was labbed for a 24 Superboat with more bow lift built into it. It was better but still not as good as the Rev4. As stated, I would run both and see what you like better. If you can't do that then I vote for the Mirage+.

Tomas' boat has some very minor(cough) bottom work done. He definitely made some changes in the right direction!

Hahaha, it wasn't that major either. It's straight and has another pad. Can't someone copy my pad and test before and after to see if it helps anything?

My Pantera is stripped, that's correct, and weighs very little for a 1979. Complete with 20 Gallons of fuel, life vests, helmets, anchor, docking lines and some more it weighed 3850Lbs (if I remember correcly).
