prop slip question

What kinda of slip numbers are you guys with 28's seeing? Mine is about 17 which seems a little high.

what kind of mph are you seeing out of that boat? prior owner said 97mph..

The Get Away 10-14-2013 09:41 AM

No where close to that. GPS on my phone yesterday said 82 at 5800rpm with 4 adults and 3/4 tank of fuel against the river current. I don't think it has 97 in it.

When I had my 28, the propslip was in the 17% range also and that was after adding another inch of spacer and propwork.

Was that the best for the boat performance wise or did you just settle for that? Anyone else.

cant compare to Griffs old boat. his was a single. 17 is a little on the high side for twins. my 94 bravo boat was in the 10-12 range running 4 blade 26's bravos.

I feel like im losing quite a bit of speed with that much slip, or is that just wishful thinking . Im running 27p hydros now which I hate, they want to porpoise real bad. I borrowed a set of 30p bravos earlier in the year and was able to turn those to 4900rpm, I was having some other issues that day so I didn't get to do a whole lot of testing with them. I think a labbed set of 30's would be the ticket.
