Can anyone tell me how a 28 with a single rides. Any porpoise problems or querks about the boats and some speeds. Im new to the panteras. I had a 28 apache, 30 cigarette mystique before so I have been looking at these 28s. Please anyone give your opinions and any other info to a newby to panteras.

they ride great. but they take huge power to move. i liked my twin the best out of them all. the single was fun but with 700+hp it was still slow. the twin had 502/415 efi and was 10mph faster and used way less fuel. only ran the race boat a few times and it really liked the rough water.. but was still slow. they need a chop to get them to let go of the water. great boats. i miss mine somedays. best deal going is Dale's speedmaster boat.

Mine rides nice and level. Speedwise she does well w/ her power for a pantera, but my boat is much lighter that the conventional 28s out there.
It depends on where you do your boating, but I still think I'd prefer twins where I am, but in a 28 twin SBC's would be the way to go.
Oh, mine does lean to the port, but some tab helps that. This will be a symptom of almost all narrow single engine boats.

I run a 28 single with 650 hp. the boat is rock solid, flies level and dose not list at all. it took a little effort to get it dialed in, I raised the drive and run a 5 blade prop and the boat came alive. you will not be disappointed with a 28 pantera, the boat cruses in the upper 50 and top's out in the low to mid 70's.

the major reason i went to twins is where i boat if you splatter a drive you can still get home. after towing 13 hours to lake cumberland and breaking a drive in the poker run that was the day i said no more singles with big power.

Mine runs exactly the same but I still have some more dialing in to do.
