Actually Connecticut at the time. Way worse. More snow and hills. I am mostly down in the salt around ocean city, but I spend a little time on the sand bar-island at the mouth of the schulkyll river. If for nothing else than to make sure something runs well enough to drag it to the shore. You neshaminy creek? Or farther up?

Smelled fuel on Sunday and found it to be the dual feed line where it's pressed together, fixed it and made it out. I no longer want to drive this boat on a glassy day it's too boring and belongs in the chop!!!!
Oh and it keeps getting faster. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...ae&oe=5A31EEAB |

The day I picked up the Pantera
https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...f1&oe=5A23EBD6 I was a little excited! https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...a9&oe=5A2396CF |
New seat bases glassed in. Reused the old Vector drop outs.
https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...c7&oe=59EAB994 https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...ec&oe=5A328B9E https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...87&oe=5A31097E |
I checked every inch of the harness, labeled it and check for continuity before fishing it in the Pantera.
https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...30&oe=5A395B23 Cleaned the bilge that day too https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...2b&oe=5A16CA86 https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...75&oe=5A33084E |
Spent an evening with Windex and a razor blade stripping over spray on the glass then installed new glazing and weather stripping on the frames.

Transom assembly needed some love.

Cam swap day and started getting the engine ready for the drop in.

Seats going back together! I cut the back seat wood and side panels based on pictures I liked.

We caught a break in the rain and dropped the engine in, new gimbal bearing and all that day.
https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...ea&oe=5A2CA304 Following day I installed the tabs and retro fit electric trim tab rams. https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...58&oe=5A1F841B |
I made an inline flush to start the engine on the hose for the first time. Its primitive but does the job.

So you got engine, exhausts, bravo setup and a spare trailer outta the vector? Decent haul.

That is the only trailer. I picked up the Pantera the day after I took the Vector to the dump. There was a day to re-carpet the bunks between the dump and the pantera going on it lol. The engine was carb to pan with all accessories on it. The drive has better gears in the upper. The transom assembly unfortunately took a shot. My guess is when the first upper went it put a hole in the assembly, it was the size of a golf ball above the cooling neck. I don't think he ever knew it. He was surprised when I showed him pictures. He did give me the old lower though lol. I also used the wiring harness including a full msd setup with the distributor, gauges, drop out seats and the rub rail lined up almost perfect!!! I also got two props too. I have a ton of stuff to sell between the two boats. The only part that didn't fit was the stern light, the Pantera was way bigger. The steering wheel and throttle weren't period correct so I bought them to match the style of the Pantera. The Pantera came with the steering box/cable and throttle/shifter cables which was good because the Vector is a side mount and they are too short for a top mount setup. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I get constant compliments and thumbs up everywhere it goes. |
And imagine the time-expense to buy each piece seperately... where is it faster? Light chop or glass?

I probably would have never bought it if it wasnt for the vector. |
Post #45
I can see the aluminum stringer to pedistal brackets 2 holes on the top 3 holes on the side. By any chance would you have an extra set ? Thanks in advance for a reply.
|
Look at post 53. Doesn't Lok like he used the brackets. But they wouldn't be hard to make.
|
If you magnify the photo he did use them. Kris may have had a set when he sold the boat.
|
Distance from stringer to the mount looks to be a lot longer than those plates. What boat do you need them for and what is distance between the stringers? I will look at mine tomorrow and see what they are like? Are you using that same standard merc mount on standard chebby block?

Thanks for getting back to me.

3/8th thick 4 inch 6061 angle is 55 bucks for a 4 foot piece at grainger. you need 2 feet tops and same amount of flat stock. and you can do better at any metal supply house. you were gonna have to re-drill anything you got used anyway.

67.6 mph, 25 mirage plus, 4900 rpm, half tank by myself. light chop 2'.
66.8 mph 25 mirage plus, 4900 rpm, quarter tank, three guys (600lbs), 2-3 chop. https://scontent.fphl2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...7f&oe=5A5D97FC |
Nice ride

So this happened
I worked up the nerve to install this on my 24. It sounds amazing and blows out a 27 mirage like its going out of style.
I also added a drive shower to the boat this season and it's causing planing issues that I have to figure out if its worth keeping. Conservative timing 10 base/28 total. 90/95 jetting on the HP950. Dropped the plugs two degrees, NGK 3249 (ac r41t) @ ".028 gap. Keeping it under 4800rpm. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4edf9bf63f.jpg |
It's gonna be a driver's boat with that power. What more could you ask for. Be safe and have fun. It's gonna be a blast:)

Update on the boat.
I went back to N/A. The blower was fun this season but a pig on fuel. I was conservative on the tune and safe with timing but the cast bottom end scared the heck out of me. I never hung it wide open for more than 30 seconds but with the 27 mirage I saw 69 mph within couple seconds and backed out of it at 4800 rpm. I put a dual plane edelbrock air gap on it versus the single plane from last season and it picked up a lot versus the Team G intake. Calm water, 25 mirage plus, it pulls 66 mph and with good water it's 68.5 mph, 4 people and a quarter tank this past Sunday! We had great water to run the boat and that's up from 67.6 mph by myself in good water end of last season. I estimate my compression right now with the 310hp gen 6 bottom end and the 088 heads is under 8:1. I don't think I'm anywhere near my original 425hp guess. Maybe 365-375 horse? I picked up a built 454 a couple weeks ago as a winter project that made 600 hp on Nickerson's dyno. I will most likely de-tune it a little because it was setup to run dry. Hopefully I'll get out a few more times this season I want to try the 24 pitch Bravo 1 on this setup. |
Where do you boat, because I have a 24 Bravo. |
