Since the photo uploading changed on this site, i might as well let the cat out of the bag. F1-71 Left right before Thanksgiving 2017. And the new 28 arrived shortly after Thanksgiving.
She is a 1980 28 with twin BBC with blowers. Few old owners are on the site. But all orginal-ish Going to keep it that way. Even do some light restoration with new classic styling interior, and cleaning up the drives. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8f2dc3e506.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e84458c64d.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...38ec5d5c65.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4ef0e7bef1.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...de865cbce5.jpg |

My rear seats flip up individually for storage underneath. 70 sounds about right from when I did coastal Marines poker run back in like 2000 and I passed him in my 99 that did around 76. Lol

Look to be pretty much cloned Hawk 525SC engines.

I like the interior , but I'm a Sucker for a nice Tuck&Roll. Realy Diggin on the old style Morse throttles. |

Thats the must unknown part! engines started lift as 420 hp units. But then got some rocker upgrades and the blowers. Makes about 5 psi of boost. Only said to run 70. But she is a heavy girl! im not thrilled about only 70 mph but, we will see. I cant leave anything alone.
Wnem I first got on this site 10 years ago there was a white 28 Pantera for sale for the longest time that had some big blower motors, think in the 750 range each. Had to be an animal. 28 s are one of the best looking boats out there in my opinion. |
Was this one for sale in Ohio years ago? |

Cool beans! Classic pantera in all regards. |
I saw that boat in storage this winter, cool deal. I assume you got a pretty good deal on this, I kicked around the idea of it, would make a neat little race boat (probably too heavy).
|
I know the boat from the original owner from Rocky River, Ohio. It will run closer to 78mph with that set up. Will handle Lake Erie 3-4's like a champ. Was Originally named Mariah.

So my offical plans are this as of now/next year:
New interior in the same truck and roll(add the color strip to the sunpad again that matches the boat stires), Get rid of the carpet in the cockpit(maybe seatek), pull the transom hardware and have it all blasted and painted shiny black with all new oem stickers. Oh and i know someone said they like the old school throttles.... thats about the only thing i dont like. So ill be switching them out for new style setup. add the throttles into the arm area of the seat. But this thig is so much old school cool. All of the old school lights work. Even the silly ones in the cabin that set the mood. lol. |
Currently working on trailer rebuild. It needs one of everything! going with LED lights that are tinted black, new bunk setup, new bow support. Ill even refinsh the factory teak trim on the trailer to make it pop again...

Does your cabin have the bottom of the deck mirrored?
|
Not sure but the console in your 28 looks like the twin to my 1980 24, I bought a console from a mid 90s 24 that puts the shifter in a perfect spot. Very similar to the way the newer 28 is setup. I can get pics and measurements in a few weeks. |
