Reunion
Hey guys just doing some winter dreaming now that I’m finally feeling a bit better after Covid kicked my ass. I would like to do a get together in the mid Atlantic but hell I would up to going to New York or down south somewhere. Just be nice to get us all together and maybe over the winter in Florida. Life is too short let’s get working on something and be ready in 6 months
Hey Drew, We are looking to do something in Michigan on Lake St. Clair this summer too.

hey Drew, this is Guy ( fellow 36er), lets see if we can't get a group together on the Chesapeake this summer. we got 3 36s and quite a few 28s we could possibly round up. It's not easy but worth a try

That will be a great time. Always love to see another Pantera. Let alone a group. Let’s make it happen. Feel free to give me a call and we can come up with some ideas to make winter go a little quicker
There hasn't been an "official" one in a few years, but we had some (Active) Thunder Runs in South Florida usually over a long weekend in the March-ish timeframe. I suggest the west coast though over the east coast; as you have a lot more places to go and the weather is spotty, so if it's bad one one area, you can run to another. The last one we did out of here:
https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...arina-village/ ...and the marina arranged it so we were all on the same dock for the weekend. It just happened that it was the weekend after Daytona Bike Week, so I hauled my Harley down in the back of the truck and hit DBW for a day and a half as well. |
Hey guys good news. You have to live Pepe. That is what made Pantera so great. Just got off the phone with him and he said he would be in as my guest for the reunion on the Chesapeake. How great that would be to have Pepe join us. This would make it a real event. Let’s start getting things planned and make it happen

Pretty awesome! |
I thought so too. Surprised there wasn’t a bigger response. I think this could be a special day on the bay for sure
I'll bring our 28 down, sounds awesome!
That’s awesome Baja97. Where are you out of? We have nice ramps right by my place in Joppa. I figure Pepe would be up my way unless we all decide to meet somewhere else. I am really open to any ideas. Just like to get it started. You know how these things have a way of sneaking up on you. If you have any ideas please give me call my number is on a thread above. I would like to kind of kick some stuff around and come up with a game plan. Anybody feel free to call let’s get it going
I'm in SE Pa. We bought the 28 at the end of the season last year. I had been searching for s Pantera for a long time, it was awesome to finally buy one. We are having it repainted, interior redone, and a new engine put in. Hopefully it will be done by spring. I'm up for anything, it might be fun to set it up like a poker run with a few stops. I would also put a post up on the Facebook page.
Sounds like a great idea. They are made to run and that gives us places to run to. Let’s see some pics of your boat in progress. What power you putting in? Changing anything on the interior or just redoing? I’m doing a full interior upgrade with floor, electronics, and redesign so I hope to be ready too. I loved my 28 great boat. Rides much bigger than 28. We will need to shoot the **** sometime and come up with a plan
Sounds good. The boat is being painted right now. I'll post some pics when it is a little further along. Engine is going to be a 540 with a Blower Shop 250 on it. I'm not looking for huge power numbers, just something reliable. We are updating the interior with new vinyl, but keeping most of the original colors. We are also modifying the dash to accommodate a GPS. I'm still playing around with what the best placement will be. I'd love to see some pics of your boat. Summer will be here soon. 👍

I would make the trip down from PA to the Chesapeake. I'm right above Philadelphia. Any other 24's local to the area?

Nice old girl you have there 64 coupe. What 64 coupe do you have. I got a 65 coupe and just curious if it’s the same model. That’s guys for wanting to come down for this. I have a house on the water with a couple slips and neighbors are great so we would have plenty of docking if anybody needs it. I would be more than happy to offer my house for some people to stay at or transport you to a near by hotel. I think it will be a great time. We should get a group chat and go over some ideas. I can make time whenever it’s convenient for you all. Baja and coupe 64 what do you all think?
You too Slocum let’s kick around some ideas. Where is your buddy’s place at? Just wondering if it’s not far from me.

Baja 97 I had the same gps location problem as you can see. The template also includes the cover and I am adjusting some of the guages but it’s always a tight fit on dash’s not designed for the newer gps |

This 28 will be back on the Chesapeake this season. Not mine but a buddies. We put in at mouth of C&D canal. I’m sure he’ll be down for a run. Im in a Sutphen so you guys are gonna have to make an exception😉 |
Is there a date set up for this yet?
I don’t know about a Sutphen? Lol. What a cool boat. You don’t see many of them. What size is it? Your buddies Pantera is beautiful with that paint scheme. Hell we are close to get together anytime. Do you put in at the same area? If you headed south and me north we are only a little over 30 minutes apart.
How is your dash coming along. I was able to cut a new piece where the compass used to be. It's probably not the best place to put it, but I didn't want to move the guages on the main panel.
Hey SLP, its the boat that Hot Duck, Bullet 88, Griff, Rodney, and Mike all owned. I put a post up on the Pantera Facebook page. The boat is one of the first notch boats with an extremely high X. I'm looking to buy an extension box, but IMCO doesn't have the SCX drive shaft right now.
Wboulton. No date yet. I was asking for some people to call me with some ideas on dates and locations that would work best. It’s going to be in the upper bay it appears and I was thinking June but would like some feedback. Please call me with any ideas or suggestions at 410-274-5008
It looks like we have a good sized group that might meet up. I'm looking forward to it!
I haven’t finished the dash yet. Working on that and the rest of the cockpit too. I also got rid of the compass and am putting the new push bottom switches there. I’ll post pics when I have some more progress. Post some of yours too!

64coupe…we can’t be to far from each other either. I’m right on the Delaware River.
We have to all hook up for sure. I’m on the Gunpowder right across the bay from Fairlee Creek and Jellyfish Joels. That is one beautiful Sutphen. I live a flat deck and the front of that couldn’t be anymore flatter! I would love to see it in person. In all my time I have only seen a couple Sutphens and they always impress me. Just a damn good boat that has the looks too. I love the old Mustangs. Mine also is a 65 coupe but a Corvette that i retro rodded with a complete modernization. We could all hook up by land and sea. I would like.help on this gathering though. Never did anything like this and could use some help. Want to keep it simple That’s what boating is suppose to be. Really just want to set a date and some places to go and meet. Like I said simple
We could easily just pick a spot for lunch (maybe call ahead so they know we’re coming and can accommodate) then run to Still Pond or something and raft up???

I usually put in out of Salem river (Jersey side…place called Barbers Basin) it’s directly across from the mouth of the C&D canal. Or I’ll trailer to Anchor Marina in Northeast MD.
John,
Let me know when you all are meeting up with boats, cars, whatever and I'm in... |
