Ironman & 105,
Thanks for the help. I'll have to look at Holley's web site & find out what jets are standard. I have been in contact with Josh, the engine builder and the boat rigger. The motor in the boat is a good engine it just may not be putting out more than 500hp. Will find out alot more this week.
I'll keep you posted, Greg

GREAT LOOKING BOAT,YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THAT DONZIZX MEMBER NAME HAHA.

IN RESPECT TO YOUR MOTOR UNLESS YOU RUN IT ON A DYNO YOU WILL NEVER KNOW YOUR TRUE POWER,I`M SORRY TO SAY BUT WITHOUT THAT THE GUESING GAME WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY AND A BANK OF MONEY BEHIND IT.

WHAT WAS YOUR WOT RPMS AND TRIM POSITION ON THE DRIVE AND TABES.

GIVE ME IF YOU HAVE YOUR ENGINE COMBO,CAM,PISTONS,INTAKE,VALVE TRAIN
STROKE,EXHAUST,IGNITION TIMMING.

THE CARB YOU HAVE COME WITH 73 OR 75 JETS OUT OF THE BOX,I LIKE TO PUT 75 PRIMARIES AND 92 ON THE SECONDARIES BUT EACH SET UP IS DIFFRENT THAT IS WHY THE DYNO IS SO IMPORTANT IN GETTING THE BUGS OUT.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR BOAT AND DONT LET TO MANY HANDS TOUCH IT.

IF YOU WANT TO SEL YOUR 28 LABBED PROP LET ME KNOW I`M WILLING TO BUY IT FROM YOU.

REGARDS ALBERT

Is it just the altitude change that is affecting the carbs?

Hey Guys,
I checked the number at Holley today it is an 830 CFM Standard jets are 85s primarys and secondary. 6.5 power valve. Wildthing, what you listed is correct as I understand it. The cam has the same specs as a HP500 cam. The builder told me he rejetted at 2 sizes over on primaries and 4 on secondaries. I will have the actual jet sizes shortly from my mechanic. I don't have the specs on the cam. The boat does run rich (transom soot & plugs). My mechanic suggests going back to stock jets and setting advance at 28 degrees to make the engine last. Any ideas? I'll be picking up jets in the morning.
I think this motor is well built but most likely is producing around 500hp.
Thanks again for the help, Greg

Another update: I found this in some paperwork- Lunati 502/502 cam.

Three new mechanics working on my boat now. Me, myself and I......
My local mechanic is great on stock equipment but insisted that my advance should be no higher than 28 degrees?
Other issues upset me as well. My compression check also came up with very different numbers. OSO has been
an huge help for me.

I am getting a good timing light this week and will go to work. I am not certain about changing the jets but it can't be that difficult. Will also check vacuum and to see if my 6.5 power valves are correct.
Thanks again for all the help,
Greg
