Just received this "awesome motor" that will be powering Michael Landis ( American Express ) new 2005 28' Single.

The motor is a Keith Eickert 675 SC built by Sterling Engines and will be matched to a Bravo 1 XR drive.

The motor will match the American flag custom paint design that we will be spraying next week.

Should be one awesome 28' Pantera single.

Stormrider 04-20-2004 02:53 PM

Damn, maybe I just should have gotten that engine and put it on my front lawn!

hp500efi 04-20-2004 04:47 PM

Jo, what speed is expected with that set up?

JO - PANTERABOATS 04-20-2004 05:03 PM

My goal is to be in the low to mid 80s on GPS. This is a "full pleasure" 28'.

Von Bongo 04-20-2004 08:04 PM

:D :D :D :D :D

CHAOS REIGNS 04-20-2004 08:55 PM

very very nice

no short cuts with this setup!!!!

Cattitude 04-20-2004 10:42 PM

something just hit the underside of my desk:D

NASCAT 04-21-2004 06:55 AM

That looks just like the engine I ordered for my boat!

Went w/ the American Flag scheme so it would be easier to identify if stolen. Good investment don't you think?:eureka:

Full Throttle 525 04-21-2004 06:59 AM

Hey Michael:

That's one badass engine. Really like the flag design on the valve covers and air cleaner.

Jo will have to add wings to the 28. :D :D

NASCAT 04-21-2004 10:43 AM

Considering an adjustable throttle stop w/ parental key before I start driving beyond my capabilities!

A drag chute would be next of course!

Full Throttle 525 04-21-2004 09:13 PM

I'd make sure my fingernails are cut short.....wouldn't want to go through a few steering wheels a summer. :D :D :D

Tim G. 04-22-2004 03:55 PM

That's one... Where's the other one?
Won't it list to one side with only one engine?:p

Tim,

Even I would agree w/ you there. Plan to use my boat on a lake here in NC. No real ocean experience in over 20 yrs. Jo took me for a ride before I ordered & I only dream of being able to handle a boat like he does! I may never be great but I plan to be good!

LOL Mike, no the blower motor is my pleasure motor. I run P-4 with this motor.

Good luck with it !

WT- Nope...not sold yet. I need to re-post it into the new classifieds here.
I'll be placing an ad in the boat trader shortly... but I had hopedtosell it through OSO so that the boat would go to someone that would respect it for what it is...an not just go beat it senseless and not maintain it... But the BT may be my last resort..:(
That or I just keep it...

Albert- You know I'm in buddy. You just say when.

Albert's boat is quite an experience at near 100mph... and that was with less than 900hp.!:eureka: :hothead:

When will the AmEx boat be in the water?

dyno 04-27-2004 08:17 AM

I need a pair og those in my Sonic!!!

NASCAT 04-27-2004 06:32 PM

Tim,

Looking like the end of May. Headed to paint next!

Michael

B-Stubb 04-27-2004 07:33 PM

Keep in mind Alberts boat is a race set up no cabin which makes a big difference in a 28 1000 # probaly so his numbers dont work for the rest of us. Still rather have a single any day even more in the rough water!!

MIAMIBOYZ 04-28-2004 08:15 AM

Well said Brian, my boat is about 1000 lbs. lighter from a pleasure version.

dockrocker 04-28-2004 01:30 PM

That has got to be about the nicest piece of hardware I've seen in a LONG time - SWEET!

Just curious what drive are you running. I have a 280 Velocity with a blower motor, and I am looking at options.

NASCAT 04-30-2004 04:20 PM

Mark,

I'm running an XR w/ a Budda Billet Cap. KE 675 was only supposed to make between 675-700 hp but mine ended up dynoing closer to 750hp. I'm way beyond the rated limits of an XR but everyone I've spoken w/ has said as long as I refrain from the holeshots & try & keep the drive in the water (no ocean wave jumping) as well as change the oil I should be fine. I asked about the others, Teague, B-Max, IMCO etc & I was told they had their share of failures as well so why spend the extra money. I guess we'll see won't we?

Michael

VelocityMark 04-30-2004 05:14 PM

Yes Michael we will see. I can't wait to see your boat that is a beautiful combination. I which you were going to Jacksonville with us it would be a great place to get some seat time in a new boat.

Mark,

Your not the only one wishing I was going to Jacksonville w/ all the CPBA'rs but there's still Charleston. I'm seriously considering the Bahamas Poker Run in late July, but I don't want to go by myself.
