Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Great looking boat. One thing that isn't mentioned very often about the 28 Panteras is that it is a BIG 28 footer. I was rafted off to Dangerkitty in my 302 Formula, and I swear the 28 was just as big. As a reference, I was rafted off to a 353 Formula, and it didn't look more than two feet longer than mine.
Have fun! |
Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Good Deal Ron!
Get that thing up north before we ice up again! |
Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Hey Guys:
Just a quick response to JO's post..I have to get to motor vehicle to register the trailer. It was a great day in Florida..95 degrees. Boat looks great and runs fabulous. There are a few little odds and ends to do, but I'll definitely be smiling on my big 50 on the 17th. BTW..I have a blue shirt also they both have my name on the shirt. For ID purposes only...I have a problem remembering my name!! :D All in all...I'm very, very happy and can't wait to give all my friends a ride in a real boat. Thanks again JO, Pepe, Linda & Barbie. Ron,
Congrats, FT 525 looks awesome. You get so used to seeing them on dollies in the shop but once they are in the water they take on a whole new look. Miss PatriYacht shouldn't be too far behind! Enjoy yourself & be safe! Michael |

Hey Guys:
I finally have some time to respond regarding my sea trial on Thursday. My idling problem was fixed with just a change of a part. The engine is very strong and just purrs like a kitten. One thing that I really liked about the engine compartment was that the mechanic could really get in there and move around with little problem. The boat with a single is very well balanced and just loves to dig into those corners and hold that turn. No skipping, as you probably would get with steps. The lowering of the floor for the driver and passenger puts you deeper in the boat and the padding under it is easier on the back. I also like the way the name of the boat is placed the deck. We took pictures at this private island that had it's own exclusive 18 hole golf course. If you look closely at the pictures you can make the green out. We were in a bit of a rush, didn't want security to give us any trouble. But the backdrop for the pics was just perfect. I'm really happy with the way the flag seems to fall into the water. All in all it was a great day and I was really beaming with joy. The finishing touches should be completed by the beginning of the week and Barbie should be transporting Full Throttle to Connecticut on Wednesday if all goes as planned. Thanks again JO, Pepe, Linda & Barbie. Ron Lombard |

Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Ron on the sea trial wwere you geting some air did Jo give you a driving leson ? How do you feel the difference between a steped boat and yours ?

Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Hey WildThing:
I haven't had the boat on LIS yet because it hasn't been delivered to me yet. I spoke to Linda late this afternoon and she said that Barbie should be leaving tomorrow for CT. I'm going to call her in the morning to see if that's a definite. Will keep you posted. Ron |
Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
Hey B:
I've never had a stepped boat so I wouldn't know the difference, however, being a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", the conventional deep vee is the best for the snot and that's just fine for me. We didn't get a chance to go out in the ocean because of the speedometer supply line leaking and we didn't have the tools to fix it, so we just ran at a bearable speed. However, JO and I spoke about throttling and controling speed in rough water, etc... Will keep everyone posted on delivery. Ron |
Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
the 28 Pantera is easy to drive in rough water. Usually throttles all the way foward and just avoid digging the nose into the back of a wave. If its over 4 footers, maybe cut back to 3/4 throttle. THey also have a tendancy to lean, at least mine does, so constant trimming is usually required unless you have perfect conditions.

Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
All this input is really great.., however, I won't know until I get the boat North. I'm just waiting for someone at the factory to let me know if my boat is coming up North.
The trailer is registered, information sent south...waiting..waiting...waiting. |

It's some glitch w/ OSO they have it posted as a warning at the top of each forum. I was thinking the same thing but it's across the entire site! |
Re: Full Throttle 28' hits the water today!!!
This is better than a soap opera however I agree with A/E that its time for Ron to take a stand and get resolutin however he choses .And I love your boat it looks good A/E. Very tasteful I wish you built your own motor but buying one is next best .
