Last hurrah in my 24

I took the boat out today, took everything out of it except an anchor and paddle (just in case) and ran the hell out of it!!

Ran 82.8 with a 25P Mirage Plus @ 5400 RPM on the limiter

Ran 84.7 with a 29P Mirage @ 4700 RPM

Tried my 27P Mirage Plus, but the batteries in the GPS went dead and then I ran out of fuel!

Seems like I need to run too much tab with the larger pitch props. I think the bottom has a slight hook in it that I'll get taken out this winter. Oh well, it was a blast, now the motor gets pulled and goes in the 28, hopefully this week.

I am either installing a 2000 502 Mag MPI with 200 Hours or a Gen VI, fresh rebuild, 454 Mag MPI with one year warranty. Which would you prefer as a prospective buyer?

Hope everyone is enjoying these last few weeks of summer!!

What are you running for an X dimension and drive? I am going to a bravo type drive but am not sure which one yet. What ratio also, Thanks, Chris
ps. I was enjoying the last few weeks until the yoke broke :( as a perspecticve buyer any engine in a 28 would be fine or even a paddle.haha

I would be more interested in the motor with the 1 year warranty.

How about whipple the 502 mag and put it in your 28 and sell the 24 with the 454 blower motor. Best of both worlds

Go with the 454 mag 1 year warranty.
It's much easier to to sell a turn key boat.

Seems like the new motor with warranty out weights the extra 30+ HP.

I am satisfied with my blown 454 for my 28. I may have head work done in the winter, but it runs really well and has been built to the hilt with all great components.

I'd never recoup my money on the blower motor.

That is a good choice, I did not remember that you did a lot of internal work on it. I would vote for the 502 due to it's upgradibility in the future for the 24. good luck.

Kirk it is a catch 22 on this topic, sell the boat with a stock 454 mpi and you wont go wrong. If you sell the boat hauling azzz like it is then you will be obligated to answer all types of quetions to the buyer especially if he is a novice in how to run the boat. Pleasure and and money is better than a boat sitting in your garage taking up space and time. When I sold my 24, I sold it with a stock gen 6 415 hp motor instead of the 650 hp motor that was on their. I`m sure Georges is happy I did this because he now has a real reliable motor.

For me it is perfect, since this is my first REAL boat, I am really happy with it. I just wish I could go out more..........5 weeks of hurricanes!!!
