Went to Showboat tonite for dinner -- talking to John and he said ROPA is expecting maybe 40 boats -- i read they are giving away $1000 for the winning ticket (?) for the run -- no card game i guess - somebody told me that after the run the members draw a number out of a hat and one of them wins it -- you have to be a member though to win - man that sounds boring !!

We plan on going over Friday for our normal fish fry but might dock at Rainbow -- I don't know if there are a bunch of docks open this year or not - bunch of fisherman staying there though -- they might be pissed if they get booted out. He had about 10 fishing boats docked tonight. Must be a tournamant or something starting tomorrow.

Hey SD - pulling that seal is a piece of cake !! -- first pull your drive off, then take that big a$$ torch you were using the other day, and cut all the metal out from around the seal -- it falls right out for ya !!!!!!! -- oh yeah, don't forget to drain your oil first - yeah baby !!

used the all the damn gas up in the torches so thats not an option. But the chainsaw had plenty of gas in it. I cut the drive off the transom nice and clean it worked great!!!!!!!!!!................ I got it all apart the seal is junk and my pinion gear had chunks and pits out of it so I ordered a new one.All the bearings looked good though, a little wear on the thrust bearing races was all. The upper gear had some pits also but no broken edges on the teeth. I think Iam going to swap the upper and lower gear sets put the new pinion gear and seal in it and hope for the best.... Merc wants 1200.00 for the xr gear set or 280.00 just for the pinion its worth taking a chance. I just hope it doesnt explode and tear up the case I will have to keep an eye on it. Hey I think I owe you for the my shirt and the wifes G-string still.

We keep that weekend open on the events calander because most of the SPBA members are face down in a mud hole up at the track. When they say party they mean it!!! GOONED. Especially my arch enemy Chambers and his crew of sausage hunters. If I can, I might be on the water on Saturday Night. Not sure yet. For the last three years I had three concession at the Nascar event, this year they tell me no Independants. What the F$%K???!! Daytona corp. owns the company that provides all the food. Oh well, so much for my Outerlimits . When it gets a little closer to the event look me up.

You guy's planning on going to Showboat on Saturday?? I think there might be some dock space around 11:00 ish. Everybody can stick around until about 3:00 I think. Wish I could go I have to make some dough at the Wine fest. Maybe everybody could choke down a cold drink for the Pres. Like I said on the SPBA website, remember one thing "UNDER THE BLACK FLAG WE SHALL SAIL" ARRRR!
