Thanks

The ramp at Jordan Point is about a 3 out of 10. Its not preferred. I've never used Hopewell, but I like Osborne Landing a lot. It can be shallow at low tide, but I have never had an issue.

Saturday morning is usually a CF at the ramp. Its doable, but you have boats and people EVERYWHERE, and parking is nuts to non-existent. I'd recommend Osborne or Hopewell for Saturday morning launch.

Re: Jammin On The James 2007

Hopewell Yacht is the closest to Jordan Point, about 5 miles away, Osborne ramp is very nice but about 15 miles up river.
Both ramps will be able to launch anything.

We all pay by the minute.....since your done in 30 seconds she said she would feel bad about taking your money. Besides, don't you need the money for diesel fuel and outdrives? :evilb: :drink:

Is 93 octane available at the start?
If so, exactly where? - Marina name will mean nothing as I am not familiar w/ area.

excursion 02-08-2007 09:09 PM

Re: Jammin On The James 2007

YES 93 OCTANE is available about 4 miles from the start at ANCHOR POINT MARINA, they take 24 hour credit card, it is up the Appomattox River. I run my motors at 10:1 compression and need 93, that is the only place on the upper James to find it. So join us on the run and have a blast in that BAD A$$ CIG. Come on Bill, YOU CAN DOOOO IT!!!!!

I emailed 1x & called them 3x and finally just got on the list for Thursday & Friday. Said I was 29th. Which sucks cause I started calling on 1/16 but didn't get to speak with anyone until 2/6. They will not confirm that I have a slip until closer to the run...so if I get bumped I'll need a back up plan...I guess we'll sleep on the boat in the parking lot.

Hmmm.....big as planes!!! We may grab a room in the area for the night. Any places close?

psychoboater 02-10-2007 10:53 AM

I guess we will wait until closer to the run and see if we get slips at the point. I dont know what number on the list we are, but I did talk to a lady from jordon point last week and she told me she would be in touch. If we dont get slips there we'll be asking you all where else to get them.

They make these new fangled things called SCREENS for the hatches now. Brand new to the market. They work well for keeping out the bugs. You can even make one for about $8 bucks from Home Depot with some velcro and screen material.
