Re: Jammin On The James 2007
do you have a limit on how many boats can get in the run? How long is the run, including the bay part? maby a few of us from Pa could make it down, seems like its a great run.

Re: Jammin On The James 2007
100 last year...might have room up to 120 but then we run out of dock/hotel space. Run is about 90 miles long (one way) and we return to the start point the next day at your leisure. Alot of us stop at a local hang-out 1/2 way back and re-coup. The "official" bay portion is pretty short, but usually some boats head into the bay for helicopter shots depending on water conditions.

If you came down this year...you would be coming back every year... It's one of the best! |

If they're out, you guys are in if you need/want a ride. We should know within a few weeks. I'll keep you advised. BTW: Patty is working with Randy's wife Debbie who makes KICK AZZ Poker Run swim Suits for the ladies. This might be a good chance to get a FIERCE ALLEGIANCE Cigarette Swim Suit for your woman. Count us in if there is space. You can email me the details on the Swim Suits. I'm sure Leslie would be a team player;) |

Re: Jammin On The James 2007
Yes, we have some people that stay over for a few more days in Va Beach to do some boating. If you got your hotel room and slip for Friday night you could then run up on Sat. There might even be some boats running with youin the morning. Your slip for Sat. night would not be the same but it would be at the same marina. The RPBA has a lock on all the slips so we put you in your slip according to how you enter, the sooner you get you entry in the closer you are to the "DOCK PARTY" action. That is half of the fun for Sat.
I have been telling you for years now, you will love this Poker Run. So send in your registation and plan for it now. |

excursion answered and you can go to the Renaissance Friday night but you'll miss the party we have Friday night at the start. We flat out fill that marina with boats staying over and usually have a few people that stay on there boats while their still on the trailers due to space!! |

If you are planning to spend the following week there in Va. Beach...Then by all means, you want to drop in there at the hotel. Get a hold of MWDILL & DSANDMAN. They both do this every year. |

If you come down Friday (or even Thursday like us), make your reservations at Jordan Point http://www.jordanpoint.com/find.aspx if you want the boat to stay in the water. If you need/want a hotel, At the intersection of I295 and Route 10 is an Amerisuites (804) 530-4600. At the intersection of I95 and Route 10 is a Homewood Suites (804) 751-0010 and a Marriott Courtyard (804) 414-1010, all of which offer good trailer parking. There's a bunch of people staying there. And you can drop the boat in Saturday morning if you so choose. (Hopewell) Then you won't have to make a 90 mile trip up, just to run back down.

Re: Jammin On The James 2007
rssteiny,
There is no issue with returning back to the Richmond area on Sunday morning from Hampton Roads. Its straight up the James river about 85 or so miles, and the river is normally smooth and no traffic. Last year we got up early on Sunday, and went right back to the trailer in Richmond (Jordan Point); took the boat home, washed, flushed, and got on an airplane by 6pm. |
