which one to do?

Suggestions please. If you had to chose which poker run to do would it be the APRA 1000 Island or APRA Alexandria Bay.

If neither, which one in the North East?

If One of those, any suggestion on doing it: where to stay, Launch, Slips etc???
Thanks!:D

Barry,

Come do 1000 Islands in Aug. We have been going for two years now and its great. We towed up last year with the Ocean Performance guys. The run is one of the best around, besides Mohegan of course.:D

Dan, The timing may be bad for Alexandria Bay for me, I'm hpoing to hear something about the 1000 Island at Kingston. It looks like a BIG event and in almost the same place. Depending on what I can find out it will be between those two. I'm also thinking about the Hudson River Run in June.

Barry, either run in the Islands would be a fanastic trip, but if you can only make one event, you have to do Kingston.
It's a great City with lots of Restuarants, and Bars within walking distance of the the Marina.
All the boats are in one place, and there are 3 hotels within sight distance of the basin.
Hook up with the CT guys, roll on up here, and enjoy.
If I could offer you one piece of advice, avoid the Chicago guys on Friday night, it makes for a tough Saturday morning ..... :D

The 1000 Island run in Kingston is one of the best around. You really have to go to experience it for yourself. It is also one of the biggest. The town is very accomodating to the boaters and the people there actually like fast boats. I'd say skip A-Bay in June and hold out until 1000 Islands in Aug. We are also thinking about doing NYC in June. I think NYC should be a better turn out this year, than last year. Fron what I've heard A-Bay is a smaller run and not as long. They are both on the waters just A-Bay is in the USA, and the 1000 Islands run is all in Canada. If your going to 1000 Islands book your hotel rooms early. It is a Big event.

I agree the 1000 Islands run is THE run in north America, and I was one of those Chi-Town guys and I don't remember Saturday being that bad. Oh but after you have seen 50 shots lined up not much else can compare. Ah, you know it is that whole Canadian money conversion it just dosen't seem that bad. Just wait for this yoar we have had a whole year to plan, you know if the Chicago Jucy bar is still there???? LOL everyone is invited to the 2007 fest.....BZ

I think thats the way we would go as well. In 2005 a couple guys from the rack ran the boats down. It was Ruff going and coming. I think trailering is the way to go. It also saves the wear and tear on the boat and especially the gas!!

Chi-town Jager-bombs in the hizzzouse!!!!
This year we'll have to call ahead and make sure they don't run out of Jager before the night is over!
I almost puked Sat morning cleaning the pelican crap off Zubik's bow...and the alcohol was only partly to blame...I think.

Just did some quick checking, looks like at the present time JUICE is closed.
I'll put a call into the Molson rep I know in Kingston, and find out the story.... :evilb:
