We ran our Cobalt 343 with twin Merc 525's in the poker run last year. We keep it at bay harbor, so it works out nice.

Have fun boys, won't be there this year..

PS- try the Brazilian Skirt Steak at the Mesa.. Can't beat it! great with a Patron Margarita!

The little red 1985 Saber had balls, they kept that thing up on plane and gave it hell until it lost spark outside of Bay Harbor. Special thanks to Mitch in the Red White and Blue 38 TG for towing the crazy little red Saber into the Round lake channel.
Also, Kurt in the Cig with yellow sixes was haulin azz the whole way, getting some major air and coming in to the stops top of the field. By the way, the little white fountain ex, first one into Beaver island, Petosky and Bay harbor. To bad my port drive was dangling from the steering rams 4 miles outside of Bay harbor.
What an awsome poker run, it was my first. I will be back again and again. Thank you all for making it possible.

The last few miles the saber was towed by Tim DeYoung wasn't it?
Great job marshal and safety boats!!! You guys went above and beyond your call of duty! SOOOO many woulda chickened out and had a real tow boat come in for the job in water like that. You guys never flinched, and stuck side by side the whole way home....hats off to you, and i'm damn proud to have been a part of your group! :ernaehrung004:

The big lake certainly was rolling pretty good. I never even got my camera out to take pics.....too busy w/ throttle and wheel and my crew was too busy holding on.
Bill - I think they got a couple of your boat when we were leaving Bay Harbor.

I looked through all the pics from artvark....9 pages and i only found 1 pic of my boat, and it was running down lake charlevoix in the morn. i KNOW someone has gotta have more pics! all the way from dockside, parade lap, to the big water. where they at ppl?!? i didn't take a single pic while out there, i was to busy tryin to kepp my boat ON the water, not over it!

I will look tonight to see if I have one. I saw your boat when we went out on the docks early - but I didn't take many then because most were "buttoned up" under their mooring covers. When I came out later, you might have already pulled out. I'll check the video footage too--although that didn't turn out too well. The digital zoom doesn't look so good....:(

Yup, I'm sure you right Freeryd. Mitches cig towed the Saber from just outside Bay Harbor to the channel just outside, about 13 miles in the big lake. The Cig was unable to keep his wake down and his motors from loading up. I was not sure who finished towing him the last half of the trip. Big thanks to Tim DeYoung!

Yes, 330 SS formula, from around the ole big rock site to Wards dock. If it was a cig that did most of the pulling, I apologize as I called it a fountain in an earlier post. Any way it was happy as mustang turned loose. As soon as he untied the saber, he blasted back for town, looked fun as hell!! Just charging over those 6 footers:Score-101010:

Dan, I am assuming that's your boy in the saber. He did her good. there's a great aerial shot showing most of the bottom.

Dan Adams 07-14-2008 04:57 PM

Nope, not my boy. Just love those Sabers and happy to see such an old girl still busting waves.
