LEOPA, Fall Fun Run.
 

Was down at the shore line of Windsor, Ontario this morning to watch the Fall Fun Run going up the Detroit River to Jacks for a card stop. The boats came running by Windsor and Detroit at about 10:45 AM, lot's of Cigarette's, 1 or 2 Sunsation's, a couple of Scarab's, a few Fountains, 1 Hustler, couple of Baja's, 1 Check-mate, a few Formula's and one yellow canopied boat, around 40 or so boats. Would like to see them come closer along the Canadian shoreline on their way to Jacks next year, the water is deep enough. On their way back from Lunch at the DYC, they can run close to the shoreline in front of Detroit on their way to Portofino for another card stop. Take full advantage of the run in the Detroit River to show spectator's on both sides of the River, these beautiful and powerful offshore powerboats racing by them, not in the middle of the river but close to the people. Made a point to go and watch them go by even though I had a Wedding to go to.

The Formula was over 40' and had trips. :D

The people living near Portifino's came out to watch the hardware idle by.

Didn't get a pic of the canopy Fountain. It was gold.

We were sitting around having breakfast and we hear it coming, revving pretty high... we looked and we could see the roostertail and man he was flying. :D Didn't have the camera with. :(

I think thats my old Bullet...I wondered what happened to her.

Great people, great run we had a great time again.

birdog yes that is your old boat, I made a few changes. I painted the engine compartment, repowered the engines and blowers, painted the vents and swim platform.

It was a great run, we sure got lucky with the weather. I also liked the fact that the majority of the boats started and then hung together for most of the legs. I think that the fall run is my favorite event of the year. I told Rocky he does not need to change one thing about it.

I just put two and two together, just realized you had the closed canopy fountain. I wish I would have said Hi, our friends go a kick out of seeing that boat, they are not use to race boats so they were fascinated. We will probably meet up in Fl on one of Bob's runs. Donna

Dan is too modest to tell you he is on the Board of Directors of Ft Myers Offshore, Inc and is actually Club President. We are looking forward to Dan bringing that bad boy down to Marco this winter. I hope he will be there with it for the Thanksgiving weekend run when you and Ian are down.:)
LEOPA run looked great and wish I could have made it over but hopefully next year. :)

Thanks for bringing it out Dan. It was a treat to watch her run. Although for a second we thought we were gonna get wet! :D

We like getting wet:p we got sprayed down by one of the really fast Lipship's cig's on another LEOPA run.

In case you are wondering who I was, I was the blond running around all day with the tiny dog. We were in the red white and blue Black Thunder. Fundraiser was on board with us, he was the guy that stood about 7 FT :D

I hope Dan brings it as well

Bob I was thinking about you being at the Jazz fest this weekend, on Saturday night they had a live band with about 9 members and they were all about jazz had some good horns and so forth. They usually have them every year so next year you can have your Jazz and offshores all in one place:drink:
