Hey guys, I'm all in favor and agree with you on adding some additional stops. I LOVE being able to stretch out a little going over to New Orleans or Slidell. Here's the deal though. I've been talking to Charlie about adding stops for the last 2 years and he is under the impression that people like to hang out at Madisonville all day so that they have time to "visit." He say's he heard that especially from people out of town as well and I have to respectfully disagree with him.
If we want more stops or ANY changes to the run, we have to get together and put up a united front and start working on him for next year. As someone else mentioned, if it takes those of us that have been running it for 10 or more years not buying hand next year, then so be it. We have to show him that there are a lot of us out here that can influence a lot of people around country.
Or we could have some "Madisonville 100" shirts made and where them on the poker run. The point is, none of us want to piss Charlie off, but if this is going to be "a big time powerboating event" then let's burn some gas!!
Just my .10 cents..

I totally agree. It is nice being able to spend "some" time at Madisonville but the whole day? Maybe make Madisonville the last stop (have the chicken drop there like it is now) and then a run back to the funhouse. There are enough places open now to add some card stops. That waterfront restaurant in Slidell could be one, Mariners in Mandeville could be added back in, he could even make the new dry stack marina on the industrial canal a stop. There are some options available.
The fun of all the old card stops was the runs in-between and gambling if you could make the whole run on one tank of fuel! I remember in 2000 it was so rough the trim pumps broke off the bilge bulkhead in my Formula. We didn't turn around though. Tied them up with a dock line and headed to Salty's for the chicken drop.
Charlie does have an email address on his website (www.dundeeproductions.com). Let's let him know we want to bring the "200" back. Remember the old adage about the squeaky wheel getting the grease. But, like James said, it will have to be organized and we must approach him as a group. One or two people questioning him about card stops will be dismissed as whiners.
