Bayfair Storm Deadlines (Event Sept 16-19)
If you have been considering joining this great boating event, August first brings a couple of major deadlines, first, the room block negotiated at the Paradise Resort Hotel expires and rooms during the weekend will be much more expensive, plus may not be available once the general public can reserve them. If you had planned on getting a room there please use the link at https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do...ventID=2508012
The second deadline is the early registration discount expiration. There's always a hefty discount to those that those people who help out in planning and deposit payments an event of this sort demands. Unfortunately there has not been very many people take advantage of the discount and Lake Racer wants to make sure it didn't slip you by.

For those boaters concerned about launching their boats in salt water and possibly affecting their trailers, Jim has negotiated a $100 Launch fee by the Driscoll Boatyard who will use their hoists and slings to launch your boat. Please let Jim know (via email, PM or phone call) if you would like to take advantage of their service. It will be limited in number so let him know as early as possible.
More information about the Bayfair Storm Poker Run is available on LakeRacer.com and at this link. http://www.lakeracerllc.com/registra...rEventinfo.pdf
Also information for the entire festival is at http://www.sandiegobayfair.org
So don't let this awesome event pass you by. Sign up now for what could eventually be one of the best poker runs in the country!

It is with heavy heart, Jim and the Lake Racer LLC group regret to inform everyone that the 2010 Bayfair Storm Poker Run will have to be cancelled.
Many reasons played into this including but not limited to the lack of sponsorship (possibly fear of a new venue), lack of participation (again, possibly fear of a new venue and a change from the “norm”) and mostly complications with those that put on Bayfair. Without going into too much detail things did not seem to go as smoothly as they should have (and this from the guy that deals with the massive headache that is Desert Storm).
Jim is most sorry for the inconvenience it will cause those that did come forward in support of this event. Those that signed up and those that sponsored saw the huge potential a joint event could have become and the Lake Racer team thanks those that came forward in support, especially title sponsor Teague Custom Marine. Bob, seemingly more than anyone else in the industry, continues to come forward and support this life style/hobby that we love so much.
Jim is also sorry for the inconvenience the planned event caused for the SCOPE group (causing them to change their venue date). Although the SCOPE poker run went off bigger and better than ever before this last weekend, many a phone call, meeting and other behind the scenes activity took place to insure two great poker runs could be brought to all performance boaters from across the country.
Southern California is a huge performance boating hot spot from San Diego to Santa Barbara and in the future, if an event is planned and executed for the San Diego area, hopefully those hundreds of performance boaters will come forward in support of what could be a wonderful, fresh event, intended to give back to our boating community.
I will leave you with this…Rome was not built in a day - No poker run was as successful in its conception as it is today. Without the vision and willingness to be a part of something that could eventually be huge, great things will never happen.
On a positive note, with the cancelation of Bayfair Storm, Lake Racer can concentrate on bringing you another spectacular Desert Storm Poker Run! Jim is feverishly working through the red tape, budget and massive logistical nightmare to bring you, what many feel to be the best poker run in the country! Hope to see you all there.
Sincerely,
Tank Sears
