Just curious if anything was set up for a shuttle to and from the ski resort? I was told that they have one and that it might be an option.

:evilb::evilb::evilb:
The boat's all buffed and cleaned up and ready to roll! Everybody at work thinks I'm nuts enough already....they're shure getting a few good laughs as I bellow out engine noises and start running the "air throttles" all day.......and there's still 3 more days of it! See ya's friday. |

Just 2 let participants know, a couple weeks ago a bomb was dropped on us in regards 2 get'n a 93 octane tanker in Charlevoix as we understood it would work & "no deal"! Since then we have been try'n anything we can 2 still pull it off & as of about an hour ago, all attempts have failed! I can speak 4 the Boyne Thunder committee as we R very very sorry 4 this inconvenience! As I said, this was just dropped on us recently!! The marina in Char has what he calls 90 recreational w/ NO ethanol! Possibly some octane boost could B used along w/ this 2 get U thru the 2nd shorter part of the course?????? East Jordan at the south end of the south arm of Lake Charlevoix has 93 but we realize that is a ways 2 go in the middle of the PR!! If there is anything we can do 2 try & help please let us know!! Tracy:(

Anyone that needs Octane enhancer can get a hold of Jim Kidd Motor Sports. Jimmy is on the board. He is a supplier of a very good Octane Boost and will be doing the Boyne Poker Run. Jim uses the Octane boost in his own boat and never had a problem. Jim's boat is a Skater with big power. Adding his Octane Boost at the right amount with 90 Octane should give you over 93 Octane. That's one Option.

I just got turned onto Dragon Racing Fuels, they make an octane booster that has been pretty thoroughly tested. I got mine from Ron at Dynamic Speed in Chesterfield, MI. I think 1 bottle will make 80 gals of 90 equal to 93. I always keep a couple on board just in case.

I was just looking at our slip assignments and it's crazy how many people have 2 or 3 boats entered. This is going to be the best year yet!

Man I wish that Big John Coe was able to go boating this year this is a great line up!
|
There are a few boaters from Traverse City who will be anchored at the tip of Old Mission by the mission point Light to spectate if anyone else is looking for a good spot to raft off! Hopefully they get some good pics and videos of us going by! We know Jay will be distracted by all the Bikinis!
Looking forward to the lunch run tomorrow and the start of a great event! |
I may go up and take a peek without my boat.
One of my customer's has a mostly blue/purple 36' Nortech Cat with a new pair of Wesseldyk's supercharged engines. Dave Wesseldyk may also go up to watch. 10,739 |
The first 4 boats to return on the first leg of the event were various Cats...i.e. Skater, MIT, Mystic, the 5th boat was an 47'/51' Outer Limits, and the 6th boat was a mostly red, tripple engine 50' Hustler out of St. Joe, MI. The 7th boat was a 36' Nortech Cat.
The very first boat/participant to arrive had paint graphics with mostly gold and black colors---just not sure of the Make/length and was the FIRST of the ALL the boats to arrive. Wind seemed to be coming out of the East making the water conditions pretty much Dead Calm---it was definately a day pretty much for the CAT hulls. Lots of cool hardware and great weather. I think the new course with the boats returning to Charlevoix's Round Lake for lunch was a great idea because it gave onlookers a greater opportunity to see the boats take off and return again. 11,142 |
