We'll be leaving Dothan, AL about lunch on wednesday which is about the time you guys will roll through. Might tag along on the rear being we're pulling a dinghy compared to some of the rides you guys are pulling!

Default Emerald Coast Poker Run

Wish I could bring the 36 eliminator down to the run. I have not been on here (OSO) much this summer. I'm mostly a lurker anyway on OSO. Ive been a member since 2001 but I never post anything.

June 2, I lost my best friend, my 24 year old Son, Dex, in a tragic car wreck. It has been a parents worst nightmare. I never want any other parent in the world to go through this. He was killed with his buddy and his buddy was driving, so his parents are going through double grief.

I know some of you all know me and knew my son. We always made the shootout and several other runs across the area.

We had already planned a trip to Cumberland last June 23 for the poker run out there and we went cause I knew my son would want us to go anyway and have fun. He was my best sidekick for years of boating along with my wife. I am a lucky guy. I have a wonderful family that supported me in my boating habit.

Fast forward to this week, we decided to go to Destin and take my 10 year old son, Christopher, down to the beach for a week of fun before school starts on the 16. I forgot that it was the Emerald Coast Poker run till I got on here a few weeks ago. Anyway my wife does not want us to bring the boat down on such a long road trip again this summer. We need to do family things with my little son and try to get through this terrible ordeal. Next year several of us from NE Ok want to com down there and run the event. I know a lot E-Dock guys come down there but we never have.

Anyway, I would like to come see the boats and all of the people at the event. Can you all tell me where to come to? We are staying at a holiday inn on the beach at destin. When would be the best time, day or night to come visit with everybody. I don't know if any Okies are coming down but I may run into a friend somewhere and I would just like to see everyone. We don't frequent Grand Lake much and the E Dock guys but I do know most of them, so I don't know who is coming. We usually go to another lake called Lake Tenkiller in southeast okla.

Just looking for information for next week. Thanks for all of your help

Sorry for your loss. AJs is great vantage point Friday afternoon. Also Saturday and Sunday. The boats hit the sand bar at the bridge in Navarre on Saturday which is a check point. You might want to rent a party barge for and hit Crab Island for the raft up Sunday.
