Poker Runners,
Sure is cold!!!!!!! Let's all think warm thoughts! It will be boating season soon, and before ya know it - it will be time for Powerboating for a Cure Poker Run!!

The 5th annual Powerboating for a Cure Poker Run will take place on Friday June 28 & Saturday June 29, presented by MAPA (Mid Atlantic Powerboat Association). All proceeds to go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Here’s what we have planned so far this year (all inclusive):

Friday Night welcoming dock party then party at Poker Run headquarters
• Refreshments and live entertainment at Waterside Fri & Sat
• Saturday morning Continental Breakfast at Poker Run Headquarters
• Poker Run Saturday
• Lunch at Saturday afternoon at Marina Shores. Cool off with a dip in the swimming pool and soft live music
• Dinner by Outback Steak House & Awards Party, card playing, awards ceremony, dancing and live entertainment at Poker Run Headquarters
• Poker Hands & Prizes (TBD)
• “Powerboating for a Cure” Helicopter, Photographer (TBD) and Videographer will be taking action shots and video Friday and Saturday
• Registration includes event pass for both days, all meals, 2 Powerboating for a Cure Poker Run T-shirts and Poker Hand.
• Ramps and overnight trailer parking, regular & 92 octane available close by.
• The Best Meals, The Best Entertainment, The Best Course and the Best People!
• And of course a full stocked bar with only TOP SHELF BOOZE!!!! Look Ma! - no hang over.

• Poker Run Course: (subject to change w/o notice )

We have more up our sleeves, but they're not locked in yet. We are all committed to bring you the biggest and best event. We WILL out do ourselves from last year - and from the comments we got; everyone thought last years event was the best PR event they have ever attended.

Last year we filled up the hotel rooms early - so this year we have a bigger allotment! Get registered soon while they are available. (more info coming)

This years event will be bigger and better than before. The fun and planned events on Friday promise to be as exciting as the Saturday events. Just get the date locked in on your calendar!!

Directions to launch Ramp

DIRECTIONS FROM I95 TO THE Portsmouth City Park Ramp:
Coming from/thru Richmond:
Take I-64 E toward Petersburg/Norfolk Continue to follow I-64 E 63 miles

Merge onto I-664 S/HAMPTON ROADS BELT via EXIT 264 toward DOWNTOWN NEWPORT NEWS/SUFFOLK/CHESAPEAKE 16 miles

Take exit 11B to merge onto Portsmouth Blvd/ VA-337 E toward Portsmouth 3.7 miles.
WATCH FOR SPEED TRAP ON PORTSMOUTH BLVD BRIDGE

Turn left at traffic light onto City Park Ave 1.3 Miles Continue thru light onto City Park Ave go straight into park, ramp is at end. You will have passed rig parking on your left.

The GPS co-ordinates for the ramp - W36 50.092 W76 22.292
The Address for the Ramp is 100 City Park Ave, Portsmouth Va 23701

LAUNCH RAMP:
The launch ramp is available at the Portsmouth City Park. There is NO RAMP FEE to launch for Powerboating for a Cure Participants.

TRUCK & TRAILER PARKING:
Truck and trailer parking available at the Portsmouth City Park where you’ll be launching your boat. There is no charge to store your truck and trailer on Friday and Saturday nights

We would like to participate this year. We live in Hampton and just pruchased a 33 Scarab AVS last Aug. Didn't get to use it much last year and can hardly wait to get it in the water this year.

We would be staying on the boat.

This is a great run. I have driven with Jon the last two years planning on bringing the Fountain this year.Bill thre reg form does not come up on the web site.
