Don't paint the wet blanket on my back. I am all in favor of this King of the River deal.
Just want to offer that I feel it needs to be staged in a manner that it can be viewed from on shore as well as from on a boat. Needs to be run such that all are safe, all are able to make their run without being crossed up by some fool crossing the course. I was a part of the Kingston speed runs of the past and saw some of these same issues there. Poor planning, poor execution and control lead to these issues, and will again. You need a real well organized event if you want to draw a good number of participants. Lots of boats running will make this work, make it come back in years to come. Think LOTO Shootout !!! Been working for them for a long time, how great it would be if we could get an event like that up here on these great waters we have here.
Make this a deal to support a charity, pick something local that people can get their heads around and support it. Bill Taylor need not to feed off this by charging an entry fee, let some real good old hot rod boater guys put on a show, most are good at strutin' their chit, just let them do it for a good cause.

Looking forward to the event and wondering who maybe going. Also I have not heard of any coordination of a fun run around the islands on Friday. If we get a show of hands who will attend we can all meet at town docks and plan a tour through the islands and a appropriate bay to raft off based on the size of the group. Please post who maybe there so I can get a plan together

We'll be there.
Seems that everywhere we travel for events, people comment that they would love to come to the 1000 Islands for an event. Nice to see the opportunity for poker run teams to spend additional time on the St. Lawrence, getting a guided tour of some of the most spectacular boating destinations.
