for 2016 the Toy run will again be in Palatka Fl . with anew date the event will be on the DEC 10th weekend. this gives you abit more time to prep for the FUN

We're looking forward to it Rus, had a great time last year...hopefully we'll have some warmer weather this year (can't believe I'm saying that and its nearly 100 here in Miami). Will the event be located at Crystal Cove again?

I went to book a room and everything in the main building is sold out at Crystal Cove. Is there another event that weekend? There's plenty of rooms available the previous weekend so makes me think there's something already happening then.

It is much the same agenda as last year , we leaked some news of this event month ago and several af the regulars booked at that first notice. the event is gaining in popularity with each year that passes. it might have something to do with the price ... it is FREE to run on the tour, minamumly we ask that you bring your boat a toy and smiles to share with friend. the party package has a very modest price that gives you meal drink prizes and entertainment , much more in store

Where do we book hotel rooms now that it appears crystal cove is full? We are definitely coming down for this event and want to finalize reservations asap. Please help...

Crystal Cove still has rooms, they're just Not in the main building. Another option is the quality inn in Palatka. The run used to be based out of there, they have docks and a restaurant.

We are locked and loaded. Reservations are made at the resort. We are looking forward to this.

Friday DEC 9th
8;00AM registration opens
10;00 AM gather on the docks to prep for lunch run
10;30 AM briefing on lunch run
10;45 AM push off on lunch run
5-7 Pm patio meet and greet,at host hotel
7;30 Pm dinner then party your butt off with some of the greatest guys and girls on the river.Party at half throttle as Saturday is the BIG day.
Saturday Dec10
8;00 AM Registration desk opens
10;00 AM Briefing in the main hall of the Crystal Cove resort
11;30 AM start the Toy Run
the flotilla will run from the bridge in Palatka to the City Dock in Welaka, where the First resnders will collect your toys and gifts.
??;30 Lunch at the Renegades resort
Live entertainment and a great lunch** will be the feature , and a whole lot of tall stories of boating adventures between friends.
8;30 PM Dinner banquet** at the Crystal Cove resort . With a Birthday toast and cake** to celebrate everyone B-day in December . Then party and dance all evening long. RaceBoat Rus turns 56. The evening will feature great food and drinks and festivities at full throttle fun. Live music and we will dance because we still can.
Sunday morning if you can find your way to dinning room come share a re energizing breakfast with your new friends

We're in this year as long as I get my boat done! Last time it was in the water was jacksonville river rally last year. Rus is there a Facebook page set up for this, I could share it with some of my friends in Jacksonville and probably get a few more boats!

Rus, where are you thinking for the lunch run this year? Might I suggest Outback Crab Shack like the Jax poker run? They have a TON of dockage and we won't have to idle 5 miles like last year lol.

yes you are very correct . but on the friday lunch run we have fewer participant. and i would hate to miss the snaky curvy run up duns creek. the creek is navigable for a 45 footer but twisty enough to challeng an 18 foot tunnel

Dunns creek has 31 turns on a 7.5 streach of water . mark as navigable with numbered markers...

but it is what ever the group wants

I'm pretty sure the river was high last year, USGS charts showed it was 2.5' high, right now it's less than 1'. Compared with the past few years in early Dec, its hit or miss on whether the river will be lower or high. Maybe a call can be made closer to the date, either way...we're all in for a good time.

Yeah if we can be on plane driving through Dunns Creek that'd be a blast.

yes it is an on plane ride , with no speed limits . so use discretion, but present have a great time

I booked two waterfront rooms at 10am today. They still had rooms in the main bldg

How far are the runs ? Want to bring down my 20 Stingray. Cruises at a whopping 30 mph don't want to get there and yall be leaving lol. This sounds like a blast and a great cause. And aint a bad tow for me.

It's about a 20-25 mile run down river. If you want to be sure to arrive when the first boats do, just leave earlier...but I don't think you'll be far behind at 30.

Yea but those are cool loud V8 boats. Im in a basic 4.3 merc bowrider. But Im booked we are coming. And I always have fun when Im on the water. My biggest problem is figuring out how to party half throttle Friday night. Cause the wife and I only party at one speed --- WFO !!

for all those that also have in mind going to Key- west look around there as I have sent a ton of Toys tour girly T-shirt to be handed out to prospective Toys Tour guests.

The girl and I are considering coming if it works out with her job to get the days off, sounds like we'll be in the same "boat" per se, haha! Unless I find my next boat before then we'll be in a 3.0 bowrider that I can squeeze about 38 mph out of on a nice smooth day. And we (mostly she) is also a WFO all the time partier for sure! :)

ALL boats are welcome to make the tour . we have a staggered start the first group may be those boys who seek the thrill of running like wild dogs with there tails on fire . Then when those are safely up out of the way then we run the moe sofisticated mature group who ejoy the leisure of a nice boat ride and the beauty of the river. Also all the boat can not arrive at the toy dock all at one time. this gives us time to unload each boat

As Rus puts it I will be in the more sophisticated mature group who enjoy the leisure of a nice boat ride and the beauty of the river. Not sure I have ever been called sophisticated. But at 49 I guess Im mature, my mind still thinks Im a teenager. I do enjoy taking in all the beauty around me the water, the trees and the bikinis.
