The past few years we've been the Marshall boat midway on the first leg. Talk about a rush ! You're sitting there waiting knowing the boats have left Char. but where are they ? Then you see the plane of helicopter first and then motion on the horizon. and suddenly they're passing real fast and you say to yourself yes we're out of there way ! That first leg the boat are in 3 or 4 waves spread out since there is so much water to run on. We wave, they wave and there past us. Fire up and run across to the tip of the Mission Penninsula and catch them on the second leg from Elk Rapids and get the show again.
