Only reason for sale is that we are looking to get a bigger PP. Boat is mint.

That is the ONLY acceptable reason for selling a 28' PowerPlay :D

I like that windscreen, does it do the job?

The windshield is perfect and I think it looks great on the boat.
How do you like subluxator? I saw it on the street for sale earlier this spring. It looked real clean.

Re: 28 Powerplay for sale

Very nice...these PPs are fantastic boats, couldn't be happier. It's a '97 so I have a long list of "to-do's" with this boat first of which is installing an EMI or Stainless Marine exhaust system next spring on the 502s. Then on to some prop tuning. Many of the other items can be pecked away at.

Does the plexi fabricator that made your screen still have the template? I think the dimensions of the fairing are the same on the 33' and 28'. Also, how much was the fabrication?

Re: 28 Powerplay for sale

The name of the company is Vermont Plastics. They make all of outerlimits windshields.

They did not make a template. He cut out where the deck raises in the middle to make a seamless fit and measured the fairing. The whole job was $700, which was worth every penny. I could take some measurements of mine to give to them if you are interested.

That would be great plus a close-up of the wind screen to "jog" their memory's. BUT...do not rush, I have bigger fish to fry with the boat now and probably won't even think about it until after next season.

Come up for a ride before the season ends! You're not that far from lower CT. The Sound is nice and snotty this time of year and you can get a good idea of the great ride.

Re: 28 Powerplay for sale

Do you have the set back rear bench,I like that concept. That is one of the reasons for leaning towards outboards. When your lounging you got space in a smaller boat.RUN/LOUNGE/RUN/LOUNGE....You guys know how it is...Plus from what I hear PP are wave crushers...and I like to gofast but like to be confortable not get beatup.

Powerplays are definately awesome rough water boats! Personally, I don't consider them wave crushers because they do fly some (the hulls are vacuum bagged construction so they are light), but they fly perfectly level, and enter extremely smooth. You will not get beaten up at all, and we run them in really rough water all the time. Last weekend, while chasing a Top Gun, I launched mine off a big barge wake doing about 85mph. According to Morgan (Talon25 here on the board), I had 4-5' of air underneath my propellors, and the boat landed back in the water like nothing. Too bad no one had a camera for that one!

I tend to agree, although PPs have a sharp entry and deadrise they will leave the water if you drive them in an agressive manner and you have the conditions condusive to it. However, they are quite sensitive to trim and will stick to the water like glue if you tuck the drives a bit in those conditions.

Our boat does not have the extended cockpit. It is the same size as the 33' though...

I am. I have to be back in CT for a party Saturday night, so it was going to be too much of a pain to bring my boat up. I am thinking about bringing mine up there a week or two after the run before I put it away for the season. We'll see how the weather works out.

If anyone wants an unbiased, unsolicited opinion - I'll be happy to give you one. :D I've been out in Chris' boat, it really is mint! Runs awesome and it's got everything new... and yes, the wind-screen really does work.
