Default Hull bottom material

Does anyone know what the hull bottom is made of as far a coring goes? I'm thinking about putting in a depth sounder and I was going to have the transducer read thru the hull. Do I need to core the hull, or can I glue it right down? Also how thick is it? I was going to screw down a 2nd bilge pump right to the bottom.

Thanks for any input,
Frank

I have a depth sounder tied into my Garmin chartplotter that reads through the bottom without cutting anything and it works great. You just have to make sure it is filled with oil.

Thanks Jromy! In noticed your from Boca Raton. Do you know anything about a 33 that used to be there called "Palm Breeze Express" It was from a charter company called "Air and Sea" I think.

Thanks,
Frank
