Ok brothers let get a healthy debate going here when we rerig this awesome 33PP instead getting the check book out to buy a cig just gonna smokem :angry-smiley-038:do we use a procharger or NA Fuel Injection or Carbed I kinda like the EFi never gave me any trouble

Too much modification with blowers and reliabilty problems off drives.

A pair of healthy 509 or 540 producing 650-750 hp, a pair of 1.5 bravos spinning 28-32 Bravo ones will give speeds in the mid 90-100 all day long and won't break parts.

Whether you choose to carb or fuel inject depends on your wallet.

Blowers will require modification to the flooring, hatch, transom, and drive (frequently).
Drives will not live long no matter what you do....at the best a seaon or two depending on how you drive, but if you want to smoke-em them you are going to be putting to the wood.

I have owned both a blown pp and n/a pp.....just my two cents.

The only answer that makes sense is BLOWN!!!

As far as reliability on the drives? The drives don't know if you've got blowers attaached, or Allisson Aircraft Engines attached... they loose reliability with added horsepower (and your driving happits) regardless of what's attached the the air cleaner.

The only reason people ever say blown motors are unreliable is because they overdrive them too much.

It's like a valume knob... if you keep it low, it will work forever, but if you turn it up, it will be easier to hear. The louder you turn it up, the louder you want it. Until you turn it up so loud that you blow a speaker.

Anybody have a thought about rebuilding the 502s that are in it or should I start fresh thinking rebuilding what I have would save some dough but dont like doing things twice so if that not a good idea with a marine engine than I will go the extra . I built engines for street cars so this will be a learn as you go project for me .

Start from scratch.
Keep the 502s for back up, and to put back in when u sell.
Take the good custom power w/ you!

Great article on a 98 33 sportdeck pp with 502 making 635, 1.5 drives, spinning bravo one 28 cruise 70 and top ouot 95.

I agree with you about the amount of power applied to controlled by the operator.

You have to take several things into consideration, the weight of the boat, hull speed, and power.

PP don't require big blown motors to maximize their hull speed. So, dollar for dollar and motor longevity, a well built n/a motor will provide years of reliable fun.

Ok than budget wise the NA would Be less expensive Than the blown
