I disagree. I bought my 33' because it didn't have steps. JROMY's boat had 525s in it and it ran 88 bone stock with no dialing in what-so-ever. That boat was rigged at John Tomlinson's, not PowerPlay and wasn't dialed in at all. I'm sure with some tuning it would have hit 90+ without much effort. It was one of the only if not the only 33 with sporty shorties and PowerPlay hadn't performed a set-up on it yet. Steve1, please correct me if I'm wrong but I know JROMY and his boat well. Plus it's going to do well in the slop, these aren't lake boats. My hull didn't come to life unless it was choppy out. If someone smokes me in the flat I could care less, I bought it for it's rough water performance and predictable handling.

BTW...Steve1, thanks for this thread. My dream boat was always a PowerPlay 33'. I wanted one for the longest time and finally owned a beautiful '97 for a few years. It never disappointed me in any facet. I boat in Long Island Sound and it chops up very nicely, I wanted a boat that was perfect for those waters and it sure was well suited for them. From the sleek lines to the build quality, rigging, and performance it was impressive, and the ride in the rough was first class. Thanks to you and Dan and all at the PP factory, you really built a first class boat and I think this thread is showing those unfamiliar with them what a great boat it really is.

It is no doubt a shame but the bright side is that at least the thieves didn't damage it. When the boat was found it been de-rigged, not a wire was cut in the boat nor a mark anywhere ( ok one little one on the transom)
