For the heck of it, whats it worth?

Been following a few boats and threads. I'm about 2 years out from actually making a move. Just curious what I could expect from mine if I sold it.

1995 33, 500's carbed bumped to 600. Drives and motors 140hrs, hull 550hrs. Nice interior. Great gel. #21k trailer. $$$ stereo. Meticulously maintained. Runs 82-84 full load and has hit 87+ light with 500rpms to go not dialed in. Turn key with no issues except the speedo doesn't work.

So what ya guys think?

302Sport 09-30-2011 10:23 AM

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

fantastixvoyage 09-30-2011 10:37 AM

Well that 33 for $45k would have sold 10 times over if the seller was on the ball. Yours is far nicer package. What other 33s are on the market?

302Sport 09-30-2011 11:21 AM

I would consider selling mine. People have called me on it and its bot even on the market haha

These are the only I/O's I see listed, and they've been listed a while:

1. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1995...ua-%26-Barbuda

2. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1995.../United-States

Are you referring to listing #2 above?

fantastixvoyage 09-30-2011 01:19 PM

No I think there was another that has been mentioned on here with a faulty engine and not returning calls or something. Might be tho, think it was on craigslist.

Gotcha. The one that was removed from CL just recently.

I may be in the market for a 33 in a couple years. We'll see.

rlj676 09-30-2011 09:02 PM

I'd think you'd need to be in the 50's for asking price at most, that's based on what some of the 90's Cig's are doing.

I'd like to say it'd sell for way less, so I could buy:evilb:, but that'd mean mine's worth less than I want to think too.....

Most of these PP's out there have some extremely non motivated sellers it seems, so I don't know if you can base anything on them. But if the race boat for $59 sells yours is worth that minimum as yours is much nicer.

Keytime 10-01-2011 11:23 AM

JMO, but the market isn't playing nice and it seems that most boats are selling fairly low. The 33 with EFI 500's in Maryland last year went for under $40k (guessing closer to $35k) and, unless I'm out of the loop, it appeared to be pretty solid and rigged by MGD, which I have to think is a plus. I've been coming to terms with what my boat is likely worth as well. The good thing is that, if you want to move up, you give up a certain amount but you gain more. Hope you can get what you want, though. :drink:

POWERPLAY J 10-01-2011 11:50 AM

The one with 500's was a re rigged 93. Seems the newer taller hulls are more in demand. I've had offers from different people but not interested in selling. I'll most likely sell to my buddy when I'm ready to move up. I was just curious what it could go for if I decided to move it sooner rather than later. It's really the perfect boat and I have no need for another. I'm probably nuts but keep checking out cats and Cigs. Also thought about boxes and a makeover. Ahh winter blues are setting in too early LOL.

I go through this all the time, then I buy a harley or different car/truck and keep enjoying what I have.

Why don't you give it a fancy paint job, modernize it? That's the one thing I'd like to do to mine (ok, one of 10 things).

That's true... the '93's likely won't bring as much.

How about someone getting a Powerplay in the Bimini Run or Around Long Island race? :coolcowboy:

ActiveFun 10-03-2011 10:58 AM

I have a 2000 and hope the numbers are much higher than those that you mentioned. It is an awesome boat. There is no reason to let them go for such low #'s.

Keytime 10-03-2011 11:05 AM

Do you guys mind posting pics of yours, regardless of whether you plan to sell or not?

As for the new paint suggestion... I think the original paint on most Powerplays is very cool. It may be a bit dated, but in a good way. I think they were unique to begin with and often simple, but very effective. Some boats you have to get closer to in order to appreciate the paint, but Powerplays stand out from a distance. JMO

1 Attachment(s)
For sale, numerous motor options from stockish 510"/550hp to 502efi procharged/650hp to 489" NA racebred/695hp.

$28,500 25' w/procharged 502 (eagle forged kit, young perf fuel line mods, intercooled, etc)

Finishing up a few odds and ends then it will be advertised back in the classifieds again. Had about 6 solid hits, tho it was a bit premature as I don't want to to sell until everything is "right".

ActiveFun 10-03-2011 01:03 PM

Fantastx,
By giving it away, you are just ruining it for the rest of the market.

I would think the price is about right for the market and year. I am sure that is about what the final price will be, I would not think that someone will steal that for 22k-26k IMO, looks to be a nice boat. Should move fast.

No one likes to think there boat is worth less and yes I am guilty of that also:party-smiley-004: I hate the games just tell me the price and let's make the sale.

What would you think it is worth? 30k-35k?

Good luck with the sale:coolcowboy:

ActiveFun 10-03-2011 03:34 PM

Im not sure if you are just fishing for numbers? I have seen with my own eyes, people buying Checkmates for numbers in that range. Anyone selling 33PP for $25K is either really hurting, buying s damaged boat, or just plain stupid. Sorry.

It is a 25':party-smiley-004:

Look at the numbers asking here...

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o41949-en.html

The PP is so much cooler and more updated. Even if you factor in the price of the Gladiator... I hear they are a handful to drive, and the 33PP rides way better.

His is a 199? 25' not knocking it in any way just not really comparable. I must say that Cig sold really fast about two weeks I think?

What is the normal asking of a 25' PP that would be a sweet boat to have

POWERPLAY J 10-03-2011 04:51 PM

Cig you get the name. And no the smaller Cigs won't run as well. You can't compare it to a Gladiator period! If they had rubrails I would have one. Fantastix is a 25, bought from a buddies neighbor.

302Sport 10-03-2011 06:41 PM

That's ny buddies cig and he said his phone was blowing off the wall at that price. Boat is out west now...

I bet. I think that was the one I was trying to buy before I bought my PP and it was a pretty great deal then, and passing it along made another happy guy w/ out him losing his shirt.

Mystiques are incredibly rare, so there's not a lot of benchmarks on them. I'd rather have a 33 PP but honestly for equal years I expect the Cig to be priced higher despite being 2.5 feet shorter just because of the name.

Here's mine, not sure what it's worth either but don't think I can afford to sell it as anything that'd be a worthy upgrade would cost twice as much.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, mine is a 25'. Just throwing it out there after Keytime post about whats out there (or something to that affect).

33' is a totally different animal and my pricing should not be compared to a 33. There really isn't many PP on the market in any size and after owning one I understand why.

If yours was a 33 for what you're asking I'd own it already haha.:drink:

There aren't a lot of PP's built, and most people seem to hold on to them. Only like 100 something 33's, 18 38's, 12 or 13 28's, and I'm not sure how many 25's.

So Jay it seems you'll be in your boat still next year then?

POWERPLAY J 10-04-2011 07:17 PM

I'll still have it next year. Just Sat night I was talking to my buddy about him buying it. I just won't sell till I'm in the position to buy exactly what I want. :drink:

Keytime, I can't post pics but can email them to someone that can. It's a pretty simple graphic...

It's relisted. I believe that's the 33 fantastixvoyage referred to in post #3. Potentially a good deal with a survey, IMO, but I personally don't have any facts on the boat.

Another comparison:

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o42290-en.html

What's the scoop with the gimbals interfering with the rub rail?

PPlay33 10-10-2011 07:50 PM

That boat has #4 drives which have larger transom assemblies. The boat is also older and is the shorter deck.

302Sport 10-10-2011 08:20 PM

My #4s are up that high but on boxes and no notch....
