To each his own I guess, I like the look of arches and LOVE having protection from the heat/sun, when your idling through a now wake a 95 degrees and sunny it's a must for me.

I agree, I think the SF looks incomplete without the arch. When I had mine I liked it best with the shade closed but the option for shade when you really need it is a must!
