33 ready to go priced to sell

Ok guys so I had not pushed the boat much at all as I thought the ultimate deal would be that I would keep it. Well it hasn't turned out that way so looks like its got to go. I dropped the price so it should go ahead and sell. Someone is going to get an Awesome ride at an even better price but that's how it is sometimes. So spread the word if you know someone looking for a nice deal on a hell of a boat. I'll miss it !!!

Has anyone ever put a bolt on swim platform on the older lower freeboard Powerplays? Is there room below the exaust tips, or is that too close to the waterline and the outdrives when trimmed up?

Yes I have one on my 91 with mufflers you need to put spacers inside trim rams so to limit the travel of drive at full trim ( trailer position )

Nate5.0 02-14-2015 01:46 PM

I have eyes on your boat for sure

You can put hands on it. Let's make a deal.

Craney 02-15-2015 08:51 AM

What kind of speed are you seeing with the 572s ?

SS930 02-15-2015 09:05 AM

Sweet boat and looks like a great buy.

It should run around 90.

Lake Pirate1 02-15-2015 12:34 PM

Fastest I've seen 89.7 with out the box 28 bravos. Runs mid 80s any day any load. If this boat doesn't sell at this price I may have to start excepting some of the things people say about the poweplays

Craney 02-15-2015 01:48 PM

What are people saying?

What? That they're some of the best built boats you can own? Fast for a conventional hull? Classic SoFl good lines? Well behaved and predictable? Fantastic rough water rides?

dsmawd350 02-15-2015 01:58 PM

love it! had it been around last yr id be looking at it hard

ls1nova 02-15-2015 04:28 PM

Here is my 94. I put a swim platform below the exhaust. It actually works out really well as far as getting on and off etc.

I hear all that to and know it to be fact. I love the boat and hate to sell it. However I have heard many people say that the name and reputation of the boats have been tainted by the actions and things of past owners. You can sell a fountain that is half the boat for twice the money twice as fast. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with the boat.if I was gonna keep a boat it would be this one for sure

Then those people are ignorant. Dan had issues, build quality wasn't one of them.

BTW...are you a salt water environment or lake? I wouldn't think PPs would do well in lake (small lake anyways) environments for sale/purchase, locally anyway. Their bred for the rough stuff, the flats aren't their cup 'o tea and I'd think you'd have some trouble in that case.

Lake Pirate1 02-15-2015 07:10 PM

I live on a large inland lake and no it never gets rough enough to really make the boat flex it's muscles. Three foot is big here its just like a washing machine. There is never a day here I can't run it hard. I hope it doesn't sell locally so I don't have to see it. I don't have a single thing negative that I could say about the boat or its quality and abilities. Again i love it. You may have misunderstood me by that. There was a previous thread in hear where someone was asking why everyone talks about how awesome the boats yet they don't move. If years from now I am in a position to buy a performance boat again personally I would buy another poweplay. I just noticed I don't have my location posted. I'll update that

ITLLFLI 02-15-2015 07:29 PM

What's the history on this boat? Where did it come from previously? What's power was in it before the 572's?

I only can speak for what the previous owner told me and what I have done to it since Ive had it. I bought it out of Louisiana I know it had hp500s originally and had them swapped out for the 572s then I went completely through them. Sorry I don't know much more. I know its been surveyed 3 times since I had it. I had one done before I bought it and the guy only sent me half the paperwork, so I had another one done when I got home with it. After I had the steer pins gimble rings transom and all that stuff replaced I had another one done for piece of mind. Outside of the moisture number being a little high in the transom before I redid it everything is solid. Thats really all I can speak for. If someone rides in it they will buy it. If not its cool. Ill figure something else out and continue to enjoy it as often as I can.

Fountain to compare a power play to a flexible flyer

Boat was originally from south Florida and had hp500's, then made it's way to New Orleans. After it sank in the Destin marina the second owners sold it to the guy who Lake pirate1 got it from.

Did it actually? I would actually like to know for sure myself. In the original classifieds thread before I bought the boat someone asked this question but no one could answer it. Then I asked Lane the previous owner and he said not that he knew of. Then a guy told me on the phone it got washed over the back on a beach. After trying to research on that I was told that wasn't true, so who knows. If that rumor or truth maybe is out there then maybe people are scared of it I don't know. All I know is that's why I had it surveyed originally because I heard that. Of the three surveys I had done none found any evidence of it, so i assumed they were rumors and went by what the surveyors said. Maybe I bought a boat that went under at some time? All I know is I don't know for sure and it doesn't show any signs or it didn't effect it. All I can say is I put it out for a great price because I need to free up money. If someone is interested they need to come see it in person and have it surveyed their self.

And understand I have no issue with you being honest with possible buyers out there if it is true. That is what sites like this are good for. Information of all types and help.

In all fairness, I only saw it when it was tied up at sandpiper condos with the stern underwater. so no it did not completely sink.

johnmiffco 02-18-2015 02:46 PM

yes sandpiper condos in destin that's the name of the condos ,,,,,
also I know the owner that bought it and did the resto
and they did an excellent job of replacing everything with new interior interior except
the front cabin,
it is a lot of boat for the price, and well worth it,,,
that was in 98 and lots of yrs have passed if it was to have any issues from that incident
would have showed many yrs ago

Well there you have it folks all the history back almost 20 years I guess. Good bad and indifferent unless we find out it flew off the trailer at 100mph. Sounds about the same as the guy told me on the phone so I'll figure that's what happened. No matter boat is solid and a nice piece. My family has enjoyed the hell out of it. If someone wants a good boat at a more than fair price COOL buy it. If not that's cool too we will still enjoy it. Thanks to all the people who have showed interest in the boat. It'll make someone a good boat.

johnmiffco 02-18-2015 03:10 PM

when lane got it he did the motors upgrade and some other stuff
id buy that boat in an instant
it is that nice and solid
if I didn't spend the last yr finishing a 100% resto with upgrades on my lil 27 Excalibur
if ur interested in a 1 off fresh 27 and a few $s
id love to have that boat

You know I don't want too! And looks like I may not LOL... Either way we will knock back some adult beverages on the lake. Just don't know if it will be on a Powerplay or a Toon Of Poon at a skint back 17 MPH :faint2:

Thank you for the offer but I'm not really interested in any trades. If I am going to have a performance powerboat it is going to be the one I have. Even tho i think the Excalibur are cool looking boats.

About 1.5 hours... I just re-listed it on ebay. Unfortunately the boat needs to go. Ill do my best to work with someone to make a deal. Just not interested in getting raped. If I have to keep it I would like to do a few things but if I put money in gotta get money back, so hopefully it sells first.

Totally understand

Never thought it was going to take this long to get rid of my Sonic. I wish I was balling enough to float your boat and mine till it sells but not there in life lol. If it passes me by then it was never made to be and I wish you all the best.

I will be up that way in late April is why I asked.

Lake Pirate1 03-23-2015 03:56 PM

I didn't even realize the add was down, but the boat is supposed to be sold. Guy didn't come Saturday but is supposed to come this weekend, but we will see.

SS930 04-11-2015 05:03 AM

Awesome boat, looked like one of the best deals out there in this price range.
