Does anyone remember what these boats ran with the outboards of their time?

Love the outboard powered 33 powerplays, like this one.
Used 1995 Power Play 33, 45320 Eaton - Boat Trader

The add say's it was originally powered with triple 200's. Does anyone know how fast they originally ran with triple 200's? Or how fast they run with triple 250's. Or how fast they might run with twin 300-400 verados? Any problems or concerns with converting power to newer heavier verados?

All the 33 "sportdecks" seatrailed when new, with regular triple 200's, which all came with CLE(cresent leading edge) gearcases, two guys, light on fuel, went 74 mph. twin 300 anythings, went about the same. proper rigging is critical to the boats best performance.

Ed, Do you know any details on the all red Powerplay in Marina Delray Califonia that has been for sale for about a year ???? Has 2.5 Liter offshore motors . Supposedly had a cameo in Bay watch ???? 1989..... were , or are these all composite stringers ??? Or is the normal wood rot to be worried about ???

I'm half assed interested, but they have been very slow to provide me with current pictures and mechanical condition. Sounds like it has been sitting a long time. Thx Scott

mine twin 400R 80+

I’ve seen two in Fla w/triple 300Xs and XS’s and ran right at 80.

Being a twin OB vee bottom guy, that boat might be the perfect candidate for twin 400/450Rs.

On my list anyhow.
