Powerplay Chatter

I can't figure out why there is so little chatter on this Powerplay Owners Forum  These are incredible boats and I'm sure there's much to brag and talk about. Is it becuase there are so few of them out there? There aren't many for sale in the OSO classifieds or BoatTrader, maybe people just keep them forever or the production numbers are low? I go the the Powerplay site often and look at that beautiful 33/IO boat they have showcased and dream, wow...what a beauty.

WesSmith 04-16-2003 08:50 AM

Stand by Ladies and Gents.......

Indy 04-16-2003 03:13 PM

Wes...The truck's gassed up and ready for a trip to the east end, just give me the word :D :D :D

dkwestern 04-16-2003 03:24 PM

You want chatter you got it. I have a 33 powerplay and I can't wait to get out in a week or so and start rippin ass across the water. This Michigan weather better start lokking better though, this is ridiculous. well there is a start I'll be back for more chatter later. As far as powerplays for sale, I never see to many either, I still check everyday, but my problem was that I was looking for an outboard version which are even harder to come by. I got lucky however and got one of the few I've ever seen that is freshwater, so I lucked out big time. until more chatter.

Indy 04-16-2003 03:30 PM

dkwestern...any pics?

dkwestern 04-16-2003 07:21 PM

I don't have any pics. No digital camera yet. My boat is on the powerplay website though underneath the 33 sportdeck outboards. It is the third one in the top row ( purple and green) with the hot boat model riding in it. Oh yeah a hot boat model had her fine self in my boat, so I got that going for me; which is nice. Later

WesSmith 04-17-2003 07:33 AM

Steve,

Soon , my man , soon........

I still believe in the Easter Bunny ya know...;) ;)

Indy 04-17-2003 08:14 AM

Yehaaaa :D

dkwestern 04-17-2003 08:39 PM

Indy, good idea about some chatter here, I was kind of wondering myself about the lack of, but I guess we just needed someone to initiate. Summers comin, and Yeehaa is right.

Indy 04-17-2003 08:54 PM

I think this is the most action this forum has ever seen :p

Hey Fred...maybe your buddy with the 33 could post some pics...

WesSmith 04-18-2003 05:37 AM

Steve,

Ya know I think you and Diane would look real good in a 33... :D

We'll be out east this weekend (I'm leaving soon) so call me on Tuesday.

DK - get some pics and I will too !

I'm a big PP fan. But I have to say I'm not a big fan of the open cuddy in the older 25's. Was that the only way they came?

33 seem to be the most popular. It's tough to even find pictures of 25' and 28's.

Lickitysplit 04-20-2003 05:28 PM

Man, you guy's are right, there is hardly any chatter on this board, I've got a '96 33 I/O and I love it. Not many others around Stuart / Palm City. Any Powerplay owners in the Palm Beach / Martin County area?

Above all, the guys at Powerplay are as customer conscious as they come.

Jassman 04-20-2003 06:57 PM

Total Marine and Performance is rebuilding some engines for a 33 PP, what a beautiful boat, I believe its a 97 or 98 model and still looks almost brand new, good rigging, straight hull sides, what a nice boat.:D

Indy 04-21-2003 07:50 AM

Likity...very nice, lets keep it coming people, post your pics.

I have a feeling that we'll be getting a shot from a new northeast owner very soon :p

Lickitysplit 04-21-2003 06:11 PM

dkwestern, beautiful boat :D :D , how does that thing run with triples?

Mike

dkwestern 04-23-2003 12:49 AM

Thanks Mike, It runs pretty good. It has a lite feel to it that makes it fun to drive with the outboards, just waiting to get it out for the first time. Next couple weeks I don't care about the weather I'm going to take it out no matter what. Darren

Hey guys. Good to see this post going. Below is my Powerplay. Hoping to upgrade within a couple of years but for now I can fish and still represent the Powerplay name when engaged in a friendly sprint.

Guys, it is great to talk to others about Powerplays. I personnaly don't feel that they get the respect that they deserve on this board.

Frequentflyer that thing is gorgeous, give us some specifics...like how fast does that thing go with 300's.......

Mike

Actually, I think they get a ton of respect on this board. I've never read anything bad about these boats, and most of what I've read is how straight, strong, and chop busting these hulls are. There might be faster hulls out there...but who cares, these hulls will crank when the going gets rough and blast those "wanna-be" hulls.

Hey Too Old...can your buddy post some pics??

frequentflyer 04-25-2003 09:13 PM

Lickitysplit,
I just got the jackplates and I'm trying to dial it in right now. So far I've done 82.5 on the GPS on a negative trim because one of my trim pumps was broken. I've since fixed it and should be able to provide some better numbers this weekend weather permitting.

Lickitysplit 04-25-2003 11:38 PM

frequentflyer that is awesome, if you saw 82.5 with a trim pump out, you should see 85+, I think it is supposed to blow all weekend and that looks like Elliot Key in the background, be careful. Let us know how she does.

Indy, don't get me wrong, I meant that on this board you just don't see as much discussion around Powerplays. These boats are so awesome, I've been around boats for over 25 years, slow, fast ones, big, little ones. This is a superior boat. Every time I find myself in a situation like a nasty inlet or some major wake I am just so impressed by the boat.

Mike

Lickitysplit 04-25-2003 11:40 PM

Come on guys, let's see some more pictures.........

frequentflyer 04-26-2003 11:54 AM

Yep it's Elliott. Weather is nasty this weekend. I was hoping to make it to the SBI races this weekend but I don't know if I want to make the hour run under the rain. Lets see. Maybe.

frequentflyer 04-26-2003 12:00 PM

When I took the shots we were in the sandbar at Elliott. I had two guys one in a 30 foot Hydrasport with twin 200 Johnsons and another with a 23 Formula (old hull) w /a 454 come up to me and comment about the boat. Both said it was nice and probably very fast but both thought they would take it to me in 3 + foot waves. My response... You guys have never been on a Powerplay... have you ? Lets place $500 on the table, give me 3 foot waves and I will bet I will run just fast enough to wet you with my wake... :D :D Honestly this boat rides awesome once you learn how to drive it.

frequentflyer 05-04-2003 09:40 AM

Mike..

It's a 25.... I think the guys had a little too much to drink...

Scorer83 05-04-2003 11:04 PM

PICTURES!!!!:D

The Wizard 05-07-2003 08:38 AM

Hey boys!!!

i never go into this Forum much...didn't think there was much going on "i was wrong". I can say that I had 6 great years with my 33 ft. Still looks great...we had her running 101 mph last year and had 4 miles per hour more!!. But its time for me to move on :(
I will miss her...if you'd like to see her, she's in the for boats for sale section

PS Wes... my man!!! Congratulations on the vessel. Hope to hang with you guys this summer out east...Your going to love that boat
Lots of luck with it.

Ozzie

WesSmith 05-07-2003 12:48 PM

Oz,

Thanks Dude !!

Next time you're out east , stop in at Falcon and check it out....you won't believe how clean it is !

Look forward to seeing you soon.....

Indy 05-07-2003 01:46 PM

WesSmith 05-07-2003 03:18 PM

dkwestern 05-09-2003 06:07 AM

I feel your pain Wes, I am suppossed to go out Saturday but doesn't look like that is going to happen either. Weather sucks, but hopefully it stays warm until november. haha. Darren

WesSmith 05-12-2003 11:28 AM

Just waiting for my new sea strainers to be installed and MAYBE this weekend.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the weather !!!

dkwestern 05-13-2003 09:27 AM

Wes did you find anything out about those wind deflectors. Sorry if you tried to email me back, I dropped that account. Let me know what you found. It's finally nice outside though, hopefully we'll both run em this weekend. Good Luck. Darren

WesSmith 05-13-2003 05:57 PM

Darren,

Spoke to Dan at Powerplay.

He has the OEM wind deflectors ready to go , white powdercoated with the installation hardware.

I'll probably order mine in the next week or so.

Wes

dkwestern 05-14-2003 06:05 AM

Wes, sounds good, How do they install? Is it just a matter of installing hinges, and drilling holes through the deck? Could you also P.M. me with the cost I would appreciate it. Thanks Darren.

WesSmith 05-14-2003 02:10 PM

PM'd ya !
