Any info. on the state of the company?
This is an honest question and I am simply curious on the whole chapter 11 (rumor). This is not intended to bring up any bad issues, but to see if some of the worlds best boats will continue to be built. That is why I chose to put it here instead of in the general discussion, where people will talk **** about what they think they know. Thanks in advance for any factual info. and good luck to you Dan and the company. I dream of owning a 38' one day and hope there will be some more out there for me to look at.

I am with you 100% dk. I would hate to see the company go under. They are truly some of the worlds greatest boats. I haven't heard anything on their status though.

In a recent conversation with Dan, it looks like he's very optimistic that they can come out of chapter 11, probably by merging with another quality powerboat builder. They plan to show at the New York Boat show, and have rented space for the Miami show. Sounds posative to me.

Merge with whom?;)
|
Not my place to say, and these things change. The point is there's room for optimism.

Thanks for the update.

I just bought my 33 and now I looking to get a 38, hopefully everything will work out.

Powerplay "General Discussion" Thread?
Where did it get "moved" to? Anyone know? Thanks.:)
|
I looked for the thread too and could not find it, I think it went the way of the trash can.
By the way I was reading an article about a fountain sportfisher in I think boating magazine, and they referenced the 38' powerplay sportfish with triple 300's and said it would cruise around 70 m.p.h. I was wondering if there is one out there that has been built or if these are purely estimated numbers from an experienced guess from Dan. Here is the link to that article. http://www.boatingmag.com/article.as...article_id=137 |
There is no Powerplay 38' Fish Boat!
A 38' Powerplay center-console fish boat has never been produced, nor does any deck tooling exist for such a model boat. And no, a "one-off" has never been built either. As to advertising that one does exist, would be pure misrepresentation, would'nt you say? Ed

Why even consider a Powerplay?...
When you could have a new 41' Apache in the near future!? Ed:)

Don't know about Apache but my 25 (Open Fisherman mind you) has whooped 25 - 30 footers (several brands one of which was Fountain) out there in heavy seas. I swear by PowerPlay and feel it would be a shame if they go under. :(

41' Powerplay Whip An Apache 41's Ass???
Did I miss something? Apache has produced a proven 41' boat in the past...and will soon be producing a "new & improved" 41' boat in the near future. (Not to mention the experience in the larger sizes of Apaches) Powerplay does not build a 41' anything. You really can't compare the performance of a proven 41' Offshore Race/Pleasure boat to a smaller size/class sportboat? Well...I guess you can, if you really feel the need...Merry Christmas Everyone! Ed;)

wild guess, an employee or a vendor, Ed? Either way, I'm sure it is all innocent.

Originally posted by MACH 5 With the new 38' out now, and the fact that Dan has put out the funds for New York, and Miami. It seems like he may have something big planned. Then again you never know. As a 33' Power Play owner I am concerned, but very optimistic. As far as Ed's post is concered. The reason to choose a Power Play over an Apache, is simply because a Power Play can, has, and always will whip the Apache's ASS!!!! I think it would kick A$$ if you would post this in the Apache section! Let me know if you do! :D |

Originally posted by WARPAINT REAMBAJA, i have finally figured you out! You thrive for the mystique of the Apache! In your last 20 posts you have used the word Apache 10 times.Look at you searching for Apache's in the powerplay owners forum:p Hey, what are you doing in the Powerplay forum? :D I just think its funny how out of control the Apache threads get sometimes. Some even a little extreme. I never knew until a couple months ago or so when I poked my head into an Apache thread and thought, OH MY GOD! |
