Question 260 Legend 7.4L TOP END?????

I found a 260 Legend 1999 clean but high hours on a 7.4L (310HP) 400hours. My concerns are high hours and under powered. What would this run top end? what does a trade for a 454mag generally cost? Thanks for any ideas!!!

I had a 2000 the best I ever saw on the speedo was 61. It was usually high 50's. When I sold it it had 300 hours and ran the same as when I bought it. They are a real nice boat for the size, boating in lake Erie can get rough and the boat handled it well...

I just bout a 97 with 340 hours 454 mag EFI . I've only run the but once and we saw 61-63 with half a tank of gas. I would figure low to mid 50's would be in line. Hour wise as long as the boat was well cared for and service you should see up to 800hrs on that engine.

Where's the boat located?? My guess is the hour meter may be hooked up so that if the key is turned on the hour meter runs?? I had an old Scarab like that. Or than again its seen a lot of use?? It took me 3 years to rach up 65 hours!

I put 75 - 100 hours a year on a regular basis. When I have a boat I use it every weekend. I live in Wisconsin. If I was in FLA. Id have 200 a year.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our last boat I ran for 3 years and only put on 55 hours. We don't run much with 3 small children, mainly a great way to get to the beach and get away from the crowds. This year my oldest wants to do some tubing so maybe we'll log a few more?

I run 64-65 GPS, 454 MAG EFI, GILL EXHAUST, Labbed prop 23 mirage plus @5100 RPM. Thats with gas, cooler, and Better Half. I am @ 255 hours on a 1997.

I would guess low 58-60 with 310 hp.
