Congrat's
The wife and I took the gloves off and are working on our family now. We have been contemplating stepping down from the 38 Avenger to a cruiser but I don't know if I'm ready to yet. I have been polling coworkers/ fellow boaters on what's the best way to break in the little ones to the boating world.

Mac
You just break them in to what you have and they wont know any different.
We had a 29 when my daughter was born and she did great, she was out with us at five weeks old and did fine. Bought the 38 when she was a year old (because we had her and were trying for the second) and she knows boating very well for a two year old. She loves daddys boat and cant wait to go out. My new boaters first week out will be in the middle of August tempature permitting about five to six weeks old. Then we are on Vaca from the Shootout tell Labor Day. Wont have him out for the Shootout or Labor Day but all week between them. Its a little rough at LOTO those weekends :D
Good luck in your endevor, hell the practicing is what is fun :evilb: :evilb:

It took come convincing tho. :argue: Another &%$#in' function on a holiday weekend.... But, whaddya gonna do? "Uncle Jack" and I will be there for Scotty's birthday during the Shootout anyway!!!!

Unf*c*ing believable what are you thinking  Dont give in this early into the relationship let her know how is boss (the boat in the summer time) and tell her that for one it is a weekend that is in boating season and second and most important it is on a MAJOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND. :drink: and we will be in LOTO. Tell her that it is nice of her to ask but you are way to busy having fun on a boat :evilb: By the way good luck if you do all of this. :argue:

Rich, did you get my email on the shootout? I reserved a bigger place but it worked out to 300 each for you and Jim (thats with a slip for 4 nights wed-sat). I am locked in so let me know if you want to back out.

Wally, did you get a bigger place in anticipation of additional guys crashing there (i.e. Mentalpause and yours truly) or did you do it to accommodate the girls you plan to pick up at Frankie and Louie's after the shootout?! :evilb:

Congratulations Rich. Are you going to put Nolan on the throttles next time out? :evilb: Maybe you can go a little faster.... :D :evilb:

Mentalpause take it easy. You're going to force Rich to make a pulley change. New baby, increased boost-bad combo.

Re: new boating baby

aah yeah, you and John will make a sweet couple spooning on the living room floor  (with a empty bottle of the captain in one hand). There's always room for more!

We are going to have a really good time, just sux that I have to be at work at 6 AM Monday morning. Maybe its time to retire?

Hell thats only 6 weeks away!

He's ready for a rebuild anyway.  He may as well make the pulley change.

Wally, that Capt is killer. At least it almost killed me at the rally last year.

WOW someone help a brother out

Wally thats fine

John and Jeff are you going to be out this weekend? I will be out with Ainsley all weekend. John is your ride gone yet or is it still around?

Rob no pully change this year or next. If it runs good why mess with it. Will you be out this weekend? I will probably just have Ainsley, Rob and Lea with me so if you want a ride let me know.

I think we'll get the Dominator out one more time this weekend...just not sure which day yet. Are you guys still rafting off in houseboat? That water has to be getting steamy by now. Any thoughts as to rafting off closer to the powerplant where the water is cooler?

Wally, it will take more than one empty bottle of Captain to get me to spoon with John. His trunks with the bullseye on the rear still make me nervous so I tend to stay somewhat coherent around him! :evilb:

Wally will be on water Fri, Sat, Sunday...... Even if I have to dodge a shower or too.

It's not a question of when will Wally be on the water, it is a question of when will Wally not be on the water. You are a fish, my man. From this day forward you will no longer be known as "Wally". Instead, you will be known as "Tuna". "Hey, pull over...there's the Tuna!"

I made reservations at the Village Inn for the shootout. It is only a mile from Parkview and after 6 years at Parkview it didn't matter to me if I was on the lake or on the road. And it was a lot cheaper. I made reservations for Fri, Sat and Sun nites.

Rich, Jeff and I will look to catch a ride with you.

John are you coming yearly on Friday? We are planing on doing the Big Dick run Friday at 10:30am.

Mentalpause 07-19-2005 07:08 PM

Re: new boating baby

We won't be around for the Big Dick's run. I did notice that Wiggler posted a message on that thread asking for people to confirm for lunch. YOu may want to do that if you have not.

I don't know if we will leave around lunch that day or after work. So we will get in either late afternoon or later that nite. I will know more as it gets closer.
