Maybe we'll have a PQ Rally this year... :D :drink:

Re: Powerquest Factory
I don't know about Mandi, but I know Mike, Mark, and Rick have moved on to other jobs. Mark is the only one of the three that stayed in the marine industry(TIARA YACHTS). I know several other former PQ employees that went to TIARA also. It will be interesting to see who re-surfaces over there once things get up and running again.

Re: Powerquest Factory
Unless I'm mistaken the web site has changed. Very small change but a change non the less. They have the history of Powerquest listed.

FF, it looks the same to me. I remember reading all that when I was looking at buying my boat in August of this year. |
Re: Powerquest Factory

Re: Powerquest Factory
I would say they are at the bottom of a very long and steep mountain.

Re: Powerquest Factory
No matter what , I'm happy to hear and see there's activity and that someone has enough faith in the name to take a chance and make it work once again. No one would walk into a business like this without a plan and I must tip my hat to Phil and wish him and all involved best of luck.

I wish them the best of luck.

I was at the Joker factory today and heard a billionaire from GA was starting his own Powerquest racing league and bought PQ to supply the boats. :D |
Re: Powerquest Factory

Re: Powerquest Factory

I think you are correct Mark. It's going take a lot of work to get the trust back from the suppliers, dealers, and most of all, the customers. I wish PQ the best in doing so. You've got to give Phil credit for taking on such a task. Maybe Phil has some other plan in mind besides just trying to bring the name and product back. Perhaps it will be even more of a custom boat than what they were before. It indeed will be interesting to see what happens as this progresses. |

Pics?

Re: Powerquest Factory
Thats awesome!! So many boat builders never come back from a closure (just look at the NADA and you see hundreds that are out of business). I hope the quality remains--I know the loyal owners do. If anyone can take a pic or two that would be great. I would love to see what the factory looks like.

Re: Powerquest Factory
So does anyone know if this is the real deal, Are we in business ????????????????undefined
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Ive read a few of you who drive by the factory daily on your way to work. Why doesnt someone stop by and talk with some of the people who are there? It sounds like there is alot of activity and they could tell us for sure if its re-opening and when...Just a thought.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
They are going to be back in buisness possibly by the first of the year,it takes time to clean up the prior difficulties there along with getting help up and running.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Seems odd that there's been no news or announcements from PQ yet. !st of the year is just around the corner.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
I agree--we are 3 weeks away from the new year..Just checked their website and nothing new..Does anyone have any news??
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Heard thru the grapevine (somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody) that a bank out of Indiana is financing the deal and they're trying reconcile what the sellers say the molds and fixtures are worth (a couple million) and what they're really worth after a year of sitting around (not much)...
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
PQ's molds from what I had seen are some of the best around. They really seemed to take very good care of them. Not sure what there value would be.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Depending on how and where they were stored, meaning if they did not warp out of shape, I am not sure why they would depreciate???

Re: Powerquest Factory
Actual mold value is a function of how many parts were pulled, maintenance, how they're stored, and age. From a financial standpoint, I would guess that most of PQ's molds have been significantly depreciated. If the molds weren't maintained or "skinned" when they turned the lights off a year ago, they would take alot of work to get back into production shape. The ones left outside would be the biggest question mark.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Got the word today that it will be 6-8 weeks boats will be in the molds
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Fantastic! Great News.

Re: Powerquest Factory
you would think they would put something on their website or some type of announncement to try and create a buzz.
did they ever build that Mcleod poker run 38' that they had a drawing of? They need something exciting to get some attention. |

How about this for a buzz....  :D

Re: Powerquest Factory-Mcleod poker run 38'
When I was trhere a year aGo last Sept a mock up of the the Mcleod poker run 38' footer was in the back lot ,outside and uncovered. It looked totally different than the current Avenger but was along way from being ready, a long way!
Based on the drawings I am sure it would be a draw if they continued with it but I have to believe there was still lots to be done before they would even have one to water test. At that time the motor choice was the Imore V 10 . |
Re: Powerquest Factory
Just checking up to see what the activity is at the plant???
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
I just left a local ex- PQ dealer, they picked up an 05 32 PC, he had sitting around for 2 years. He had the boat on his lot, when they went belly up. it was still PQ's boat so he couldnt sell it. They sent a truck down last week and hauled it back to MI.
