Re: Powerquest Factory
I never noticed a drop either......no more or less than any other boat at the dead time of the economy
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
No drop here.sold my 290 in less then 2 weeks.at a fair price:cool:
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
None the less its still a positive. First time boat buyers might get hung up on buying a boat no longer being made. I feel now will be hearing more about upcoming progress at the factory and less speculation.GO POWERQUEST!

Re: Powerquest Factory
Looking for a nice 29. But will also need to sell my 26..

My guess is people will watch cautiously. But my guess is the new owners understood this, and in the end I hope the brand comes back stonger than ever. |
Re: Powerquest Factory
I agree that first time buyers doing some investigation might be turned off by a lack of factory support. However, I think in the long run quality and style dictate the market. Most of the parts outside of the fiberglass, some seats and doors, are aftermarket. It is not like trying to find parts for Fiat (yes, I owned 2 of them!).
Just my 2 cents but here shortly, we are going to have quality AND factory support. WaHOO!! :D |
Re: Powerquest Factory
Is that 34 located in Virginia Beach?

Awesome news !!

Re: Powerquest Factory
This is great news. We just traded our 27 for a 38 at Great Lakes Marina with Ed Geerlings last October. He told us at that time the word was the factory would reopen the first quarter of 07. We are the new owners of the boat that the instrument and glove box panels were repainted as well as other paint work by Mitcher T. I've read the posts by the previous owner. I believe he is 38 powerquest and is looking to go with Cigarette. We bought our first PQ new in 1998 at the Springfield, Illinois Boat Show from Clinton Marine who is no longer a PQ dealer. We loved our boat but soon wanted to step up and toured the factory in 1999 hosted by Ryan Cole. We took our boat along to have some warranty issues addressed. While there we saw a 38 in the later built stages and a 38 hull fresh out of the mold. We were further motivated and have been looking for the right 38 since. PQ repaired every thing on our 27 and returned it shrinkwraped to our home in Springfield IL. I don' see Baja doing this. We bought the 38 with full confidence as of all the positve PQ experiences we've had. We haven't picked up the boat yet it is 6 hours away in storage at Great Lakes Marina. Ed Geerlings and Jamie Souders have been wonderful to deal with furthing our good PQ experience. This is the longest winter ever waiting for the oncoming boat season.

Re: Powerquest Factory
Dave we bought our 26 from Great Lakes and can't say enough about the dealership. Jamie hooked us up on a great deal and with hope will locate us a 29...
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Congrats Dave on the "new" 38. I know what you mean about the long winter wait. I just picked up my 34 on 1-3-07. I talked with an associate at the factory on 1-5-07 and he said they are going to complete the boats they already have on order. I'm sure they'll announce when their ready to take new orders.
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Jamie was very patient with us on our sea trial in October. Temp. low 40's and extremely windy with a rough chop. The boat handled it better than we did. Good luck on the search for your new toy. And GO BEARS!!

Re: Powerquest Factory
not a new 38 but new to us and we believe nicer than new. We really like the upgrades that the previous owner (powequest 38) did to her. the Mitcher T. paintwork makes this 38 one of a kind. We feel really lucky to be the new owners. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the frozen pond wondering if summer will ever arive. After the Super Bowl what do we do for fun until time to pick up the boat?
|
Re: Powerquest Factory
Dave congrats on your 38 I'm sure you will love it. Where do you do your boating at? Not that matters while it is 3 degress out:D , but boating season is coming soon, at least I hope it is.

Re: Powerquest Factory
jbg, thanks ! I don't know how the last owner could stand to let her go after all he did but we're glad he did and he has great taste, nothing overboard just tastefully done.

Re: Powerquest Factory
Dave,
Congrats on the new ride! I am glad to see the factory reopened. If you decide to come to the Ohio River, let me know. We do all of our boating on the Ohio around Evansville, IN. We have hydroplane races just before the 4th of July. It is a really good time to try the river. Steve |
Re: Powerquest Factory

Re: Powerquest Factory
powerquest 380 - when PQ opens back up, you should really take a look at the 320 SC. That boat has a ton of room for a 32 footer and I beleive it runs mid 60's with 496's. It's a great boat for the money.

Re: Powerquest Factory
Im either going to do a Top Gun with big power and no cutty or an older 50 Sea Ray.
But if I want to say married I will be in a cabin. Its like when I was buying pants the other day...... Im trying on these pants and my wife says "come out and let me see". Well I looked like a dope so I say "no way!! Im satying right here" So Im out showing her the pants................. I know what you're thinking, and Im not ***** whipped. Just smart. I will be back ina go fast sooner than later. Could be another PQ but I have had 2, loved them both, and just want to try a cig or something else. I dont want a cross over like a 320SC. There a great boat, but I want to be either one way or the other. All fast or all cruise. I gotta say that 50 Sea Ray is one bad ass ride. I have a freind with a 47 and there just cool, its a whole different way of boating. I will need a pipe and a snap brimed hat!!! |
Re: Powerquest Factory
.............and don't forget the white "captain" shirt with the gold embroided ancher on the pocket!
